Last summer, I was best man in this guys wedding. It was a lavish affair with a huge reception. They went on a mexican honeymoon. I remember being real happy for them. Today, their divorce will be final. She is demanding he pay her spousal support and they have been to court twice already. They lasted 4 months. She really turned into a lunatic. They were so Christian that they didnt sleep together until their wedding night. He had no idea what he was getting into. Kudos to them for waiting, but man, I have no problem with people living together before getting a legal marriage certificate. Now, because they got married, they are having all this drama in the courts.

and what is protocol for wedding gifts if the marriage goes sour within a year?
A few years ago a friend of mine got married and 10 months later was divorsed. For a wedding gift, I gave them $500. WTF is that all about??? Shouldn't that be returned to me? And to boot, he got nothing out odf it. she took everythingComment

With a 4 month marriage she should not get squat. No way she spousal $$. I have had two friends spend over a year in court. 1 is a 6year and 1 was a 24year. Now I was just informed by a school friend who has 30years in is now getting the big D. He is sick. She not so much. You want to talk spousal the 24 year and 30 year dudes are screwed.
