If he makes a hard effort then perhaps he will have a chance, but I doubt it. It's hard to say though with Trump. Part of me thinks he is just after the hype for now. Trump likes to keep his name out there for good marketing, which he is a genius at doing.

Lets all be clear minded here. If our economy is still in the tank and I'm sure it will be,And our country will still be having alot of debt,which it will be,and things dont get better,which it wont unless we shut down the GOV which I so hope we do.Preety much the top 4 republicans will win this election. History has proven that now that the Republicans have much more power. Now that the Tea party is growing like weeds and now that we republicans are raising a shit load of money some of you actualy think that any republican who has pull wont beat him even though are country is in the tank with this scum bag. I do believe some under estimate Sara Palin because she is a women,but she has alot of power,or Newt,Romney,. But Palenta and huck will fade like thay did before. And yes I do like PAUL in alot of his views but like e all know it that wont happen .I'm routing for ya JSJS but Paul wont make the cut even though he has some ok stuff. tea party imho will break away from republicans, they are not following up on promises, and tea folks imho are passionate and serious

christie enfatically says he's not running, the rest all have problems, even trump has problems, alot of his financial dealings have been horrible, yet, the guy has passion and the hate that motivates

the more i hear and see palente, the weirder he gets

it will be interesting, my bet is a third party will jump in

and if, and that's a big if, the economy tanks, if trump was in his message would motivate

Thanks Fuzo, but trust me, I am not expecting Paul to make the cut. I keep it realistic..lol. Unfortunately, you have to be either corrupt already or easily corruptible to become president of the U.S., and Ron Paul is neither. Palin also has not been corrupted yet, thus if she is chosen to run on the ticket then that should tell you that they believe she is corruptible. However, I don't believe Palin will be on the ticket. Her being a woman has nothing to do with her chances of winning, it is the fact that the entire mainstream media except for Fox News despise her. The media is an evil but powerful machine that will make life hell for a politician that they don't like. Remember, they already succeeded in getting Palin to resign as governor. And that's another thing that would hurt her chances to win, the fact that she quit her job as governor before the term was up. Trust me, that would haunt her terribly and probably be the key reason she doesn't get on the ticket. You have to have a thick skin to be President and her resignation proved she doesn't have it. Palin would be wise if she remained a money raiser for the party.

Look for a corrupt Republican to get on the ticket. Romney could easily be that man. He is not much of a Republican considering his record in MA. It would be so darn funny to hear a Republican President challenging Obama Care when he in fact was the governor of the first state to bring socialized health care, and its been bankrupting MA every since. I used to think Romney was okay but after that I realized that he, like most others in politics, has no morals or principles whatsoever.

Unfortunately, the only politician who has not compromised his principles even once during his entire career is the only one who hasn't a chance of running on the Republican ticket. That is how you know politics is for thugs. Paul is also the only true Republican out of all of those running, and the only one who the founding fathers would be proud of. The rest are a bunch of mobster-like corrupt sellouts. If only everyone else followed legislature as closely as I do then maybe more people would realize how corrupt their own parties are.

One thing that will be interesting from this CPAC is how big of a deal they make it for the winner. If anyone remembers last year after Paul won, all of the conservatives were playing it down and laughing it off. Many said the CPAC doesn't really mean anything, Well, mark my words, today it will be different. They will act like its the most important thing in the world if one of their corrupt Republicans win. It's also interesting that Paul tied for first with Romney on another one, and won second on one. But yet they act like Paul has no chance. He obviously has plenty of supporters. He is also the biggest grassroots movement ever. But if they don't allow him to be on the ticket then of course he can't win. They can't afford Paul to win because they would not be able to complete the New World Order. Also, Paul would stop the wars, and nobody wants to stop those even if we go broke. Let's recall that Afghanistan succeeded in bankrupting Russia after a 10 year war. I wonder if the same is going to happen to us. Maybe the real goal of the Taliban and Al Queda is to beat us by bankrupting us.

Trip you preached that Blojama was the holy man and would save the world with his change,but guess what he's worse then jimmy Carter was and our country is in the worse shape its ever been. I will chime in on the tea party not following up. Fuzo I am as much in support of the Tea Party candidates doing good as the rest of the true Republicans and Libertarians out there. Unfortunately, many of the TP freshmen have not stuck to their word as showed in the recent Patriot Act vote. The good news is that of the eight freshmen congressman who voted against the Patriot Act, all eight were Tea Party backed candidates. However, the bad news is at least 32 TP backed freshmen remained and all of them voted in favor of the Patriot Act. This means that they rolled over on the voters who put them in office by voting for the Patriot Act which goes against the 4th Amendment of the Constitution they promised to uphold. As much as I dont want my rights taken away from me and GOD I dont and would be the first to have a fit if they did. We have to pick our battles a little better. If we all lived in a perfect world then yeah I would be more pissed but we dont and we got attacked. So I'm on the fence with this one

Fuzo I see your point but if you truly don't want any of your rights taken away then why would you allow your 4th Amendment right to go out the window as it has with the Patriot Act and TSA.

I used to look at it the way you are back when I was active duty. However, during that time I became more interested in history and politics and learned more about how important liberty is and how easily it can be stripped away. One of my favorite quotes is from Benjamin Franklin when he said "Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." That quote couldn't be more accurate than it is today. They scare you into giving up your liberties always in a time of war or other crisis. Usually it is said to be temporary but always becomes permanent. Once liberties are lost they are usually never regained. The Patriot Act is one of those laws that takes away liberty for supposed safety. Yet, they have never prevented any terrorist attacks from these laws or any other, such as the TSA and their ridiculous searches, also against our 4th Amendment rights.

I will always be on the side of the Constitution. I choose not to give up any liberties at any cost because I know that we will never regain them. The government cannot and should not ever be trusted. As for the politicians, they swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, not an oath to uphold only the parts that are convenient for them.

In regard to terrorism, I would rather take my chances than to have the government search every American as if we are all terrorists. Look at what happened in Russia recently. A terrorist let off a bomb at the gate where everyone is crowded waiting to go through security. Think about it, why would they try and get on a plane with 400 passengers when they can just go to the security area where there are usually many more people. But now what will happen since that attack, will they start checking us before the security gates, perhaps in the parking lot before entering the airport? Sounds silly doesn't it? Well, it won't surprise me if they do.

Great book Trip. Yep, Orwell seemed to have been able to see the future. They like to use words that mean the exact opposite too. Remember how Orwell used Freedom to mean Slave and Slave to mean Freedom. I think I said that right..lol, been a little while since I read it.

Yes, but in some cases they use words that mean bad for things that are good. It's called doublespeak and was coined after George Orwell used similar words doublethink and newspeak in his novel "1984" back in 1949.

The government essentially names things the exact opposite of what they actually are, or at least skews it to sound like something else. Just like carbon is now being turned into a polluting meaning when really carbon is merely carbon dioxide, the stuff we exhale. The government wants people to think carbon is bad and thus has led a war against carbon known as the green movement. The green movement restricts our personal liberties by regulating everything we do but we are supposed to feel good about it because they use the color green for the movement, symbolizing mother earth.
