dont' watch the congress and senate in action on cspan then, lol, i'd never done that and watched about 4 hours the last two days, typical conversation

A. fed government needs to give us money

B. yes, we have big problems, but, politics and laws and timing, our hands are tied

C. we need money

after much research and soul searching, imho, they all believe this, wall street did get out of control, took on too much leverage all over the world, blew it too smithereens

wall street promised to be better behaved, bernanke will keep rates low forever until we get better employement

our largest exports are food, chemicals and super high tech, as long as the dollar goes lower, the rest of the world is screwed and we re-balance our spread sheets

now this is just a feeling, and i'm not sure 100% but it keeps nagging at me, 7 billion people, peak oil, etc..................most future models predict maximum of 9 billion people before you get all kinds of things out of whack, energy, food, clean water, etc...........

I think 9 billion people gets hit in like 2025, so perhaps, just a guess it's a race too the last man standing, and the governments goal is too remain the reserve currency and have a big bad ass worlwide military

i always thought iraq was really about a military base in the middle east too operate from, like a cop on the corner, not that they are intent on ivading anyone, just that hey we can bomb u too smithereens cause its an hour plane flight too obliterate you're country

my other concern, is china and asia, imho, most have no clue what china is really about

overall though, i'm still fairly unsure of alot, maybe it's age, lol

One of my major concerns is for the people that are dependant on medication. I know food & gas are going to be a major issue, but think about those that must have their meds to, not only live a better life, but there are those that must have meds to continue living, period. Think of those that would be down for weeks maybe months due to the withdrawals from their prescription meds. This is a fear of mine knowing people with major illnesses that must have their daily meds to maintain.
If the shit hit the fan. Think about the families which need the head of the house to keep them safe. There are many situations, in which the one to guarantee security for his home & family, might go into severe sickness, possibly die, if medications were interupted.

Although I agree that the Republicans are a much better choice than the Democrats, which I would never even think about voting for, the Republicans are not true Republicans with a few lone exceptions. Fuzo, I promise you I am very much in tune to the voting records of the Republican members of Congress and the Seante, and I also assure you that I am very aware of the core principles and philosophy of the Republican party. With that said, there are only a few true Republicans in the entire house and senate. The vast majority are hard to tell apart from a Democrat in regard to their support of government intervention, retraction of our liberties, and big government spending. We are truly doomed either way. Many of the newly elected Republicans have already rolled over and favored more government intrusion into our lives. Politicians are corrupt, that's just a fact of life. I know many people like to believe that the party they support is full of good people but it isn't. For people like me that only want the truth and to find people who will defend liberty, well, you won't hear the truth on any of the major news stations, Fox included, and you sure as heck won't hear it out of a politicians mouth. I don't understand, nor will I ever, how people can support either of the two parties so boldly when both have lied, deceived, and abused their powers. It's the same bs rhetoric every time they run for office, followed by deception. But like I said, if I have to choose between the two, I choose Republicans, but both will lead us to Socialism eventually. That's my 2 cents anyways. Voting records don't lie. I look to those and then to the bills being proposed each day. I have an app called Congress on my Droid that gives me live updated bills being proposed and passed each day. It sickens me some of the stuff these thugs keep coming up with.

Yep, more money is all they think about. The problem is all of the new money is created out of thin air, which creates inflation and more debt. Most people don't understand this stuff as well as others though so they don't even realize how serious it is. I'm not concerned about population growth however because I trust capitalism to always work it out. What I do fear though is the end of capitalism, which will create serious problems on a global scale. I believe the End Game is near and the world will encounter global revolutions. Totalitarianism attempts are on the rise throughout the globe and citizens are waking up. I'm not so sure either what to make of everything for certain but that is one of my prime fears.

The government has succeeded in dumbing down an entire generation of people through their public school system. Dumb people equals the loss of freedom eventually.

my other bet is tea party peaked forever in december, it's becoming quite obvious too all involved, it's just been a big business goldmine for insiders, and the exposure of bs involved is pretty sad

It's not your allegiance to the parties' principles I question, it's the party in general. Like I said, there are only a few good ones within the party and one of those is Ron Paul, yet the party doesn't even like him. However, if you compare his views to those of the true Republican Party's you will find he is the most Republican member of Congress. I'm not so sure what to make of John Boehner but I am tired of seeing him cry. So long as they continue to win reelections they will not see the need to change. I try to have a positive outlook but it is hard with the level of corruption inside Washington. My passion is economics and economics doesn't lie. What I see is an economic disaster on the horizon that will lead to chaos on a global scale. The revolutions in Egypt and other 3rd world countries will produce a ripple effect as it disrupts the supply chain for global trade. Oil prices are going to skyrocket as well as other commodities from a domino effect. But the thing that will hurt us the most is when the dollar finally goes bust. Once that happens everyone will wake up poor and the government will make it an opportunity to enact marshal law. Of course I hope none of this comes true but I really don't see how we can avoid it. As I've said before, this is not necessarily around the corner but within the next decade I believe it is inevitable. History has many examples of counties self-destructing from massive deficit spending, spreading a military too wide, social benefits, etc. The Roman Empire provides a very clear example of the road we're heading down. If we don't make drastic changes then we will end up the way the Romans did. Those drastic changes are not going to occur until it's too late. Even the Republicans are not going to cut spending that matters. The voting public is too ignorant about fiscal policy to understand that social security, medicare, medicaid, military budgets, and many other government programs need to be reduced and most eliminated entirely. Social security was the biggest ponzi scheme of them all, but Americans fell for it. I guess we are getting what we deserve because it was the voters that kept demanding all of these government handouts.

Trip I couldn't agree with you more brother. That is exactly what I meant by the Republicans already rolling over on the voters. I believe it was Boehner who was asked what programs he would cut and he said he didn't know of any off the top of his head but that there were many. How can you not name a single one? He didn't name any because he feared upsetting his base if he named the wrong ones. Like I've said before, the politicians don't want to cut anything because their voters demand freebies. Ignorant voters equal loss of freedom eventually.

If something doesn't change soon I will be expecting Obama to win reelection. I don't know who is going to beat him, yet it wouldn't be hard to win with the right person, I just don't know if they will find that person. If they run Gingrich they're doomed, Romney doomed, Palin doomed, Huckabee may have a chance, and that's about it. But don't anybody twist my words, I'm not saying Obama has it wrapped up because a lot can change in 2 years, but what I am saying is that the Republicans better start doing something fast or they are doomed. They are in such disarray that even they don't know who the heck should run. I do know one thing though, if the Republican party and conservative news media supported Ron Paul he could win, but we all know that will never happen. The federal reserve is scared to death of Paul and will do everything in their power to prevent that. They're already running newspaper columns against him being on the fed oversight committee. A man of truth and principles is just not cut out for the office of President. There will never be another Jefferson or Washington in office. Only pathetic sellouts hellbent on becoming dictators. Unfortunately however, we are in need of a Jefferson. We need someone who will cut out most of the social programs without any regard for their personal popularity. Everything could be fixed in one term and then the voters could boot them out of office and start the socialist cycle again.

I thought Ike was okay until I read more about him. I took a Military History class in college in which the professor was a big fan of Ike. I developed a liking for him too but of course everything I learned of him in that class was taught with the professor's bias. Over the last several years history has become a passion of mine along with economics, and so I began to read up on all of the former presidents. I view Ike as a supporter of socialism and military industrial complex, both of which I am against. However, Ike is nowhere near any of the worst presidents on my list, just one I am not fond of.

My top 5 list of worst presidents goes something like this:

1. Lincoln
2. Wilson
3. FDR
4. Carter
5, Theodore Roosevelt

Note: Obama will be in my top 5 soon but I have to wait and see how much more damage he causes before placing him. I doubt he'll replace Lincoln though, unless we have a civil war or revolution, or if he becomes a dictator.
