i have long had strong feeling and suspected the chicken/egg industry of fraud. not having an opportunity in the past to prove mr theories, i had choosen just to except what they told me was true amd waddle on through life! UNTIL NOW!!!! yes...as fate would have it, i had recently went to kroger on my sunday shopping expedition, and having a relatively small list, i was looking forward to wisking through the store quickly. as the eggs are on the left side of the store, we make it too that area near the end of our trip. upon entering the eggs area, i was quick to notice the jumbo egg area was clear!! "NO WAY" i exclaimed!! i was insured by the kid stockiong the shelf that there was, infact, a way that they were out of jumbos. i asked politely if he could check the back, "some jumbo's could have been put on the side becouse of being near experation or something". but again....i was told, this was it!! having ponderd my dilema for a few seconds and listening to the air get repeatidly let out of my wife with various sounds (tsk, pst, jst...and so on) i decide that i can take 3 dozen extra large eggs, instead of the usual 2 jumbo....
fast forward to this morning...
grabbing the carton of eggs and only 2 jumbo's left, i realize it is time to do my quick math and figure how my 3 full jumbo eggs and 2jumbo egg whites can be converted using the inferior extra large eggs. as i pondered, i took the extra larges out of the fridge and set on the cubbord next to the carton of 2 jumbos. that's when i decided that this was the PERFECT op to see just how much larger the jumbo egg is than the extra large egg. as i examined both eggs i could hardley believe what i was seeing, but my fears were true...there was, infact, NO DIFFERENCE IN SIZE!!!! both eggs were equal to size...i decided maybe it was the based on overall weight as apposed to shell size...i remembered that i can actually buy boxes of cereal now in smaller packages that has the same amount of cereal by weight!! (possibly another consumer grocery scam, but one i will invetigate at a later date). i take the 2 eggs and put them on my scale....THEY WEIGHT THE SAME!!!! so...as i expected the 2 eggs LOOK the same size and WEIGHT the same!!!
so this this be a warning to all my eggs eating brothers and sisters...i believe we have found a scam in the egg industry that reaches all over the entire nation!!! SAVE THE .20 DIFFERENCE IN CARTON COST!!! (between all of this, it adds up to HUNDREDS of dollars in a decade or 2)
