Or what do ya do to get pumped up/psyched? I find that for cardio music makes a big difference in hitting it and getting through. For lifting purposes I've been reading a lot of stuff by Mike Mentzer, who was an advocate of high intensity training and also a follower of Objectivism. And watching vids of wrestlers and talking smack to myself is a big help. lol I have a Road Warrior Animal action figure hanging from my dashboard, and I always always ask him to give me strength and good form before I hit the gym.
the biggest inspiration in my workout program is the mirror!!! as hard as i try to trick it...when i look like a fatass it always points that out!!!! i dont do cardio...tried a couple times...got a rockin treadmill in my basement from when i used to make money!!! but i dont use it...for working out i GOTS to have my tunes!! i go into the gym to hit it and lady gaga comes on, as much as i love the ga, all inspiration goes out the window!!! its gotta be heavy and loud!!!! right now i'm digging on some hollywood undead, 5finger death punch and, as always avenged sevenfold and metallica!!!

So I don't know where mine comes from. But I have this force that makes me think if I don't go to the gym I am going to get fat and look like a lazy ass. I feel better when I am working out. Oh and look better also.... I hope! lol
I yell at myself and call myself a ***** and a failure. Makes me feel like I'm back in ranger school. I have a home gym though. They would probably think I was psycho if I did that in a gym lol

just set goals and try to complete them. whether its a strength mark or a speed mark (running) i just do as much research as possible surrounding the topic then go all out towards it.
Looking good and feeling good that inspires me. The feeling I get after i'm done with a work out is a great feeling. I'm all sweaty and sore. And also even when I do my kick boxong or box on the heavy bag and use the speed bag its such a adrenaline rush. I feel so good after words.So I guess I Inspire myself. As of the last 3-4 months ive been hurt so I couldnt lift like I used do but I still did. I couldnt kick the bag at all but now after 2 epidurals now I feel friggin great and I started my cycle again and that alone pschyological has me pumped.I will start up kicking again but not as hard as I have been doing it the last 2 years. Since my disks are bulged and I have that fracture in 2 of my disks I wont push myself while kicking anymore. It will be all medium level stuff

Ok, I was just goofin there about the chick thing. There are so many benefits to working out and being in shape...I focus on all of the benefits and how it makes me feel after kicking ass in the gym...that in itself is enough

older, fat and out of shape, lol, never have never will be
imho, for hardcore folks inspiration is BS, u either want and will do what it takes or you don't, motivations are personal, but it's one of thos things ur either in or out and the degree
plus for me it's a marathon, lot's of friends younger maybe looked better, now, they're fat and i'm fluctuate between lean and mean and cut, and lean and softer than lean
also i think it's a life long commitment, ie, again, either in or out, i will workout until the day i die
fighting. all MMA fighters, boxers, thai boxers, BJJ guys, ect..........
i cut 35# of mass that i worked countless hours in the gym, spent $$$ on gear, ate massive amounts of clean calories to be big and lean so that i could be competitive in the ring, cage or on the mat like the fighters i watch on TV.
not even close yet but i am still trying

Other people, people my age that are way outta shape, younger guys who are in shape. I dunno just some kind of thing I have because im 44 5'4 and being on meds for the rest of my life, plus im competitive with myself and others. it's nice to have other people admire you and be inspired by the things I do. music really helps too Iron Maiden or Dio really gets me fired up. the clanging of the plates, the feel of the pump, the pain, and the sweat. the super high I get from all those hormones flowing through my body.
Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.
