So where can I go to read up on who is on the ballot? I know republican is what I want to vote for but I want to make sure they are conservative and not middle of the road republican

Just go Vote don't tell other who to vote for. If you are able to vote you are able to read and study who is better and fits your needs in this crazy world. To many people listening to other peoples opinions. Plus all the lies on the Media... They should take money out of politics and we would see who the real caring people are. It should be a volunteer thing that we vote people into. And they would only stay a short term...

It sounds like you have a good grasp on the idea. There should be no compromise to what is American. And for anyone that believes opinon, or this ideology or that ideology is good for the country. Anyone that doesn't understand there is a correct way that America should be governed, and believes different views, varying progressive ideas, etc...is okay. That is absolutely incorrect. The Republic, if we can get back to a Republic, is the correct form of government. Not just any Republic. Many nation's governing systems around the world contain the word "republic". The Republic, which was the original state of America, was very unique and well documented. Designed and authored by men of very high intellect, and extremely knowledgable in the many diverse forms of government. Our Founding Fathers went to great extremes to document all that they could possibly think of to help the people maintain The Republic they created. A quick glance at the state we've put ourselves in could make ya wonder if all the work our founders did was in vain, but no way! A good bit of reading through their "papers"/journals/letters etc, and you learn that they were concerned if The Republic could be maintained because of the nature of man. politicians. Politicians obviously, and, what seems to be, the mentality of the majority.
To answer your question, tn94z. Pull up your local government on the web. Google your local candidates. Then read their claimed platform and where they say they stand with issues. Next, you want to see where they actually do stand with issues. You can do this by their past voting record. There's no bs when it comes to that. You should'nt have a problem locating this info.

bottom line is this. Do you want higher taxes and more gov spending and have more gov tell you what to do or do you want less spending,less Gov less taxes. If you want more Gov control vote DEMOCRAT if you want less GOV vote republican

Thanks, HP. I will do some reading today before I go vote after work. I have always known very little about this stuff. But once Obama came in the picture, I figured I better get on the ball to learn and understand what is going on in this country.
