i dont anymore...used too...duck and deer. i might this year if my son wants too. he's talking about it. he goes every year with his friends, but this yr he asked if i wanted to go with him...i think i will

That's me too. I grew up bird hunting. Not much on deer hunting. Quail. That was my thing. We had great quail dogs. German Shorthair Pointers. My dad has one rigth now. just because he admires that breed so much. They're excellent quail hunters. And quail hunting is fun as can be. I loved it. There just arenn't anymore quail to hunt. Haven't been for yrs. I haven't been hunting in a long time. A couple of random hunting trips with a friend, but nothing like I used to do.

I'd have to find something else to get into because of the obsolete quail population.
Maybe I'll start raising birds. That's what some folks do. They'll raise a bunch of quail and turn 'em loose to go hunt. That kinda takes the trueness out of the hunt though.

going hunting in two weeks....drew out a big muley tag..nothing like hunting big mule deer...hunted archery elk, but came home empty...only made it out 2 days

I bet that's kickass.
We have little deer around here. It all got to do with the geography and soil, right?
Texas got their good size deer brought in from elswhere back...I forget when it was. I watched it on the Outdoor channel, I think it was. (The story behind the great Texas deer population, and reason they're the size they are.)

Deer, elk, exotics, rabbits, hadjis, hogs, squirrell, dove, duck, and buffalo. I hunt them all. We don't buy beef. My wife and I kill enough to stock the freezers each year.

right on. Some friends of mine in Mississippi have a walk in freezer that they fill up. They even give meet to the Red Cross, or some organization that helps support folks in down times. Which reminds me of that MS game. That place, up around and all throughout, the MS Delta area is loaded with whatever ya want. but quail.

i got A BUDDY, TOM..HES FUNNY AS HELL. HE HUNTS ON A FARMERS FIELD AND THE DEER ARE CONCIDER MENECES AND HE CAN TAKE AS MANY AS HE WANTS WITHOUT A LICENCE. TOM KILL 8 OR 10 A YEAR. WE HAVE A PROGRAM HE THAT TED NUGENT STARTED THAT HUNTER CAN DONATE THE DEER TO A SOUP KITCHEN...TOM TAKES ALL THE STEAK AND DONATES THE REST, LOL...DUDE HAS POUNDS AND POUNDS OF JEKEY ALL YEAR ROUND.
