  • You know you're from a small town when...

    1) You don't use your turn signal because everyone knows where you're going.
    2) The New Year's baby was born in February.
    3) You speak to each dog by name as you pass, and they wag their tail at you.
    4) You drive into the ditch five miles from town, and the word gets back before you do.
    5) You dial a wrong number and talk for 15 minutes anyway.
    6) You can't walk for exercise because every car that passes offers you a ride.
    7) You miss a Sunday at church and receive a get well card.
    8) The local phone book has only one yellow page.
    9) No social events can be planned when the school gym floor needs to be varnished.
    10) Everyone knows the news before it's published, they just read the local paper to see if the publisher got it right.
    11) City limit signs are both on the same post.
    12) A "night on the town" takes only 11 minutes.
    13) The town newspaper is published monthly.
    14) The town is named after everyone's distant relative.
    15) Movie night consists of everyone piling into one house.
    16) You don't have a movie theatre.
    17) At the last beauty contest no one won second or third
    18) Small town gossip at 8 am will be all turned around by 12 pm the same day.
    19) Everyone else thinks that they know your life better than you do.
    20) If you don't hear a rumour by noon it's time to start one.
    21) When it's your turn to be mayor.
    22) When one family takes up half the town.
    23) When the dry cleaner has your name written on the ticket before you get to the door.

Good post, they're all true. Don't forget when you're driving and every car you pass the other driver waves at you.

The post office is the most happening place in town.

You go to the next town over on a Saturday night and meet everyone from your town.

Yah that is totally true... I grew up in a small town and it seemed like I never had to walk anywhere, and the post office usually was pretty busy a lot of the time... lol
