^haha, I saw that. Didnt castro recently admit that the system didnt work? It took them this long to wake up? Surely Castro lived like a king while the rest of the country lived in cardboard shacks without plumbing.

We should have eased sanctions on them a long time ago. We're just waiting for Castro to die and then they will be lifted. We put sanctions on them during the cold war but we've been dealing with Russia for years. It makes no sense to have held on for this long.

I don't even remember why Cuba has all the trade sanctions. Other than Castro is a dipshit, but I can't remember exactly what the course was for the cut-off.

Kennedy cut them off during the cold war and basically won't them them or us trade together until Castro is dead. The people of Cuba suffered greatly because of that.

If they built resorts there and opened it up, it would be the #1 vacation destination for Americans. I am sure the beaches there have to be incredible. They could completely rebuild and prosper off tourism.
Could you imagine the Bay Of Pigs becoming the top spring break party spot for college students? LOL

This is true, if Americans were allowed to travel there freely. Like I said, the trade embargo and sanctions put on Cuba have hurt the citizens of Cuba more than anybody. I find it repugnant to make a general population suffer over political ideologies.
