Obama's ready to sling $50billion out for roads, railways, and airlines. I don't know how much of a shot-in-the-arm $50billion is, spread across those three domains, but it's another chunk of grip. Don't call it stimulous.

This is what worries me the most. The stimulus has not worked and will not work, and it didn't work when FDR used it either, but these politicians worship Maynard Keynes which means they will keep spending. I can't even stand to debate it anymore. How hard is it to understand that when you are in debt the solution is not to go more in debt. Anyone who has studied the Great Depression and has half a brain should be aware that the New Deal pushed us into the Depression not out of it. During the stock market crash of 1929 unemployment never exceeded 9%, yet after FDR took office and started his new deal it shot up to a high of 24.9%. Below are the actual numbers.

1934 21.7%
1935 20.1%
1936 16.9%
1937 14.3%
1938 19.0%
1939 17.2%

The media and schools will spin it to make it sound like the New Deal saved us but that is not true. Now, isn't it interesting that under Obama the unemployment has gone up even after ****ive stimulus that was said to be immediately necessary to prevent us from going above 8%. In fact it went up to 10% after much of the spending occurred. They just don't get it, or they do get it but want to destroy the country to bring about ****ive socialism. At any rate, until the spending stops and businesses have a clear idea of what tax rates and regulations lie ahead we will continue on a downward trend.

I can't remember off the top of my head what year the "new deal II" was dealt. The second new deal, but I'm gonna say 1935 or '37.
FDR hit 'em twice with "the new deal." Even though, Obama's making FDR look like a tight ass.

FDR was a socialist. World War II brought us out of the great depression. He had nothing to do with it. Seems like it's time to start WWIII. Let's go bomb Iran!

Cool I am too. I went to the Mises Conference at Freedom Fest in Vegas a couple months ago. That was the best event I've ever attended. I got 3 of my favorite author's autographs on their books, Tom Woods, Tom DiLorenzo, and Jeffrey Tucker, also got to talk with all three of them. Also Peter Schiff was the guest speaker at the luncheon and man was he spot on everything.

Nice to have a fellow Mises member on here.
