Who has to work outside in this heat?

There's a huge difference from 12hrs inside or outside, period. I'd prefer to be out-n-about to being stuck in a cubical, but factor in this 100+ heat index and humidity, and the cubical starts to pull ahead.

Wow, I would think that by the end of the day you're spent. I spend a couple hours a day in 100+ heat working in my orchard...Then back to my "cold" 65 degree office...Some nights after work I still have enough energy to go out with my girlfriend who lives about an hour away. If I spent the day in the sun, I would probably go home and collapse...Hats off to you guys who do that.

I am outside about 3 days a week working in the sun. The other 2 days are in and out.
The 100+ heat index and humidity is no fun at all. Just remember to stay hydrated
Push it, Pull it, Rack it. Repeat untill wide!!

Take nothing I say as serious, What do I know, I sell water!!

Try welding for 12 hours a day in this heat wearing coveralls. I did it for years. Now I just supervise!

I work "inside," but my shop is in the corner of the building, and we have no air circulation except for fans blowing the hot air around. I have sensitive skin, and between the heat, sweat, and dirt I have more zits than a teenager now.

Give you guys much credit for having to work outside in this stuff. Just knocks the shat out of you after a while.

me too, with the sensitive skin. I can't wear certain shoes because of the treatment chemicals of the leather with certain brands. And I don't know until it's too late, and the tops of my feet have red rashes. The summer is the worst, because sweating, and getting the leather damp, is what really irritates it.

People say they sweat. Like my cousin that works with me. He said that people always say stuff about how bad he sweats, but when he saw me looking like I literally just jumped in and out of a pool of water, he was amazed. And with sensitive skin combined with sweating so bad, it makes for issues like extremely dry skin around my sides, etc... There are times that the folds of my upper eye-lids get raw from the sweat. You wouldn't believe the severity til you saw it.

My grandfather on my mom's side is a retired boilermaker. I couldn't imagine wearing that to work this time of year. hats off! I would sweat just getting dressed. Well, that's why I crank the A/C down, and crank the fans in my room when I get a shower. Because I will sweat getting dress no matter the outfit. Cold showers help that, allot, this time of year.

Even the supervisor sweats on the job-site right now. Wearing shorts, just moving around in this heat and humidity. But then again, he's a sweater too.

I like the jobs on the beach. It's a good 10 degrees cooler on the beach side of town than the inland areas, always.

                      lol

i work in a warehouse slinging beer all night. its pretty intense for the most part. there's 3 parts of the warehouse. the one that stays (for the most part plus or minus) the same as outside temps, the temperature controlled area (stays a constant 68 degrees) then the cooler where the kegs are kept (at 38 degrees). lets just say when you're covered in sweat, barely able to breathe cuz the humidity makes it hard to do just that, then you go into the cooler....wow, pins and needles all over. lol.

I used to but not any more. I have an onsite job and a telephone room that must stay below 70*.

My dad on the other hand has a construction business. He runs a backhoe and dozer from sun up to sun down 6 days a week. I don't see how he does it. It is bad out there right now.

My hat goes off to all military that do what they do in this kind of weather!!!!

I do. For the last 2 weeks I've scrapping a barn yard. It's an old hog farm been abandoned for 20 years. The heat is killer, on top of that running a cutting torch to cut the old farm equipent. I should've bought stock in Gatorade.....
So far I've scrapped a '45 Silver Streak straight 8 pontiac, a 68 ford long flat bed, wheat drill, and a bunch of feeder racks.
