Yeah. Got lucky a deli/fruit bar went out of business up in Tennessee. I got a Island Oasis GX3 for 700.00 they retail for 2,400.00 . So far I have bought the blender, single glass door cooler, hot water dispenser, display shelving, computer and cash register. I still need to buy a deep freeze, refrigerator, stainless steel sinks, cabinets and countertops. I am doing all the work so I will save some money there. I am staining the concrete floor, painting walls, building the bar and office space... Much work but we are moving forward... Sold all my toys in a weeks time... I have a great feeling about this place!

Will do... It will be a lot of work between now and the next couple months... I do get a break here pretty soon. Work is sending me to Japan for about a week and a half. Kinda come at the wrong time, but that is a once and a life time trip for me. God is the one behind all this stuff going together so well.

Haven't had time to login lately. But the building is getting there. I have my layout down and actually built the office today. Building inspector has to come before I do any more.

My applause to you for taking the risk to start your own business. Good for you bro! The store space looks plentiful which should pan out for a very nice retail setup. Good luck on your venture! Don't give up and don't listen to naysayers because everybody seems to be one when you are going into business on your own. I don't know if its due to jealousy or just plain pessimism, but do your thing and give it 100% and you will be fine. I know a lot of people order online but I prefer going to the store if they have decent prices. That is the problem I see these days is that supplement stores often charge too high of prices compared to the internet, but there are good ones out there that price very competitively. The one I used to go to couldn't hardly keep Chocolate Champion Nutrition protein powder in stock because his prices are so low that it sells as soon as he stocks it. He complained about it to me once and I told him he should be happy, just order larger amounts. The dummy wouldn't do it and I eventually had to go back to ordering online. He said there wasn't enough room in the back to stock reserves, and I said how about your garage at your house. This isn't rocket science. By the way, he went out of business but from what I can tell it was due to he the owner not staying on top of his inventory and not listening to his customers. Don't make that mistake, but I'm sure you won't anyway.

It is a huge jump... I work for a good company and make a good wage. I plan to hire someone to run the new store. So I can keep my job for a little while to see how everything goes.

This is what has happened in the last 2 weeks. Talked to building owner. Made deal on leasing the building. Sold my rockcrawler I just built, car hauler, tubing bender, boat and hardest thing my Toyota Tundra Crew Limited with every option.... Selling my truck hurt the worse. I managed to sell everything in 1.5 weeks. With all the prayers God has made this all come true.

So now I have a nice bank roll, reduced my current debt by about 600.00 a month. I can afford to open the business without taking out a business loan. Not to say I don't have a line of credit ready in case the first few months are slow. But I think I am getting out ahead of the game. Oh and my location can't be better. It is next to a High School, College, Running Track, and Hwy....

Everyone I have told about the store is excited. I think the smoothies will make more than the suppliments. But either way I plan on price matching the internet prices and being competitive locally. And I have talked with Fuzo and plan on sponsoring FG when I get up and going.

Good job bro! If you can get away without borrowing a dime you will be much better off. I am in a similar situation, debating on opening a business and like you I am not going to borrow a dime. I have kept myself liquid and saved up for when the opportunity is ready. Good luck with you business and remain dedicated. I think keeping your day job is a great plan. They say in the business world, don't quite your day job until you are going strong.

imho, XTREME is not the best name, really ask yourself if you're goal is to be XTREME or make money

xtreme to me is more negative than positive, xtreme guys who may or might not have money expect extreme and if you're not they won't come back, for soccer moms it's a scary word

if it was me i'd stake out a dozen neighborhoods within a five mile radius and knock on doors and talk to people about you're DREAM and what there desires are on supplements etc...........

i'd also call a dozen suppliers many out of my area and ask who are best supps stores and why and ask for a referall so you can talk to these folks, most small bizz folks love to talk about there bizz and will give all types of free information if you're passionate and don't waiste there time with dumb questions, there job is not too teach u, but they will tell secrets to those who are ready to hear them

Good luck!! It sounds like you have a great plan and I agree with not listening to most people. Those are the ones that are just scared to take a risk! I still have plans for my own business but they are on the back burner for the time being. For sure keep the updates coming!

Thanks everyone! If starting a business was easy everyone would have one... I like the challenge and I am good at marketing. Again many prayers has went into this. So far all has been answered! The health inspector comes tomorrow so we will see how that goes.

Finally. Got the building owners butt in gear. Much work has happened in the last week.

Installed temporary signs.
Cut concrete for plumbing. 2 days of breaking up concrete and digging... That's a real workout.
Started building the last divider wall. 70% done
Back exit door going in tomorrow.
Plumbing starts in the morning.
Sheetrock starts Friday.
Front door starts Monday..
Electrical should start Monday also. But we will see.

I got my temporary website up www.xtremenutritionandsmoothies.com . Every night I have a chance I work on it. Later on when the store opens I will work with Fuzo and try to offer shipping to members and purchase an ad on this site. Not trying to ***** out my business at all. Just updates!
