    WTF is up with a sport that celebrates a 1-1 TIE?????I'm sorry but that is freakin ridiculo0us.The USA tied England 1-1 and everybody acts likes its the Miracle on Ice or some kinda sheyitt.
    Notice how hard ESPN is trying to get Americans interested in watching this nonsense?
    You watch a hockey game and there might be 100 shots on goal in the game, in soccer, in a whole game there might be 6 total shots on goal...that is enough to put anyone to sleep..I dont get this worldwide fascination with soccer...all I can figure is that Europe just hasn't experienced anything besides this sport cuz if they did they would realize how boring their sport is...plus, I hear that the fans blow on plastic horns for the whole freakin game!!OMG!

    That's why the soccer hooligans riot at the games. It's so boring they gotta find something to do lol
    They call you paranoid until the worst happens, and in the aftermath they will call you a hero.

      Soccer is the most popular game in the world for a reason... because its good. We celebrated because we tied a team who was suppose to destroy us.

        I have never watched any soccer at all! But I just thought it would really suck to play that long to a tie. Why do they stop at a tie? Why not have some kind of tie-breaker?

          No joking man!!! I saw some kind of tv thing about gangs and one of the episodes was about soccer hooligans and those guys mean business!

            They play to a tie in the beginning because 4 teams are in a bracket and they play for points. 3 for a win 1 for a tie 0 for losing. then they go on to single elimination later in the tournament and there are no ties, they do shoot outs.

              Well, I mean no offense to soccer fans. Just seems extremely odd to be so overjoyed about a tie.I dont understand the game. Its strange. They have these free kicks sometimes where its like the goalie has no chance. weird. Watching a game is like watching a bunch of guys running back and forth all day for no reason. Once in a blue moon somebody scores and the announcer blows a gasket screaming

                    tie is a big deal. it's a guaranteed point. the reigning champs (italy) ended in a tie today as well. US definitely needs a win in opening round to advance IMO however.

                      I very rarely watch soccer but this tournament is heard around the world. I have to agree with Brody, they were supossed to destroy us and didn't.

                      I was in Va beach with my bros partying last weekend. Va beach was holding the national sand soccer tournament the same time USa was playing Eng. There were over 800 teams playing right outside our hotel on the board walk. So much more difficult to play in the sand and it was freakin great. The bars and boardwalk was a mishmash of all types.

                          How can I explain you this

                          The England soccer team are the New England Patriots
                          and the US team are a pop warner team

                          so I'll celebrate too :P

                            Wow, ok, I can see better now that you used that comparison. I suppose soccer is much better when you understand what is going on. Nobody around here cared about hockey until a team came to town and started beating everyone. Then everyone in the state became instant hockey fanatics..lol..Ole'

                              then everyone wised up, lol. i tried watching soccer...i'm out. the only sport i could probobly get into on any real level would probobly be rugby. i wish that was covered better on tv. i think that would be fun to watch
