Don't pick up a plastic bottle in your yard with liquid in it.

Beware of empty/ capped bottles with liquid.
Please don't pick up any plastic bottles that may be laying in your yards/mail box, etc.

Pay attention to this.

1. a plastic bottle with a cap.
2. a little Drano.
3. a little water.
4. a small piece of foil.

5. Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!!
6. No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc..

People are finding these bombs in mailboxes and in their yards, just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the trash.
But, you'll never make it!!! It takes about 30 seconds to blow after you move the thing.

I knew a couple dumb asses that did that for fun when I was in 9th grade. They were useing muratic acid and throw a little piece of balled-up aluminum-foil in there with the acid. It would be bad if the bottle was glass. They were useing plastic bottles. Like 20oz drinks. It would stretch the bottle to the size of a family size coke-bottle, then blow up. I would not want to be holding that thing when it blows.

The foil starts the reaction as soon as it hits the liquid. Weather it moved or not. I remember just dropping the foil in and putting the cap on. It would've went wheather shaken or not, but shaking it real quick made it go faster. Very dangerous.

The stupid shit kids figure out. The kid was just useing his pool cleaning chemicals. Adults probably never heard of it, or thought about it, at the time. I caught hell that evenin when I told my folks about it. I stayed away from that stupid idea after that one incident.

The thing is. Kids know it's dangerous. I knew it was dangerous, but I didn't think of the possibilities while my friends were busting those containers. After seeing it blow something up, and then getting the stern lecture, I realized how valuable my hands are, my face, and how life could change in an instant from playing with some dumb bs that I had no business playing with.

that is dangerous. I would imagine, if the bottle hasn't blown yet. It shoudl at least be full of smoke and swelling at a decent rate.
Probably some punk kids that need a good lesson in life, and how to maintain a healthy one.

I am on of those stupid kids that used to make these for fun...we never got anyone else invloved. Just a few of us on backroads.


Horsepower pretty much explained it all, but you can tell if it's the bomb before you pick it up. From my experience with it, you could see it swelling and you could hear the reaction taking place. It almost sounds like it's "fizzing." When we would throw them, that shaking would cause the reaction to really take off and then it would take about 30 seconds to explode.

We used to make all kinds of crap when we were young. Every bit of it, we found on the internet....now that's scary. You would be amazed at the bombs you can make from simple household products.

yep tn94z. Give it a quick shake, throw it, and watch from cover. About 30 seconds is what we had with the ones we were doing too.

My dad broke my ass of that. Took any fun or curiosity right out of our new found little fun.lol...It just looses appeal when you realize you could loose fingers and hands. or be scarred for life.

I think it's normal for boys to figure shit like this out. We didn't have internet when we did it. That was when you got bored, you created shit to do. Just boys being boys...dangerously. Throwing that into someone's yard is bs though! But like was said. I couldn't imagine that thing not swelling, and the foil fizzing and container filling with gases. wheather shaken or not.
