Guys I charged with vandalism and destruction of property when I was 15 (Stupid Mistakes ) ...and I was sent a letter from the Texas Dept. of Public Safety about my concealed handgun license is delayed due to possible juvenile arrest.

..how do I find the record? I think they want me to send documentation to them.

Damn stupid stuff you do over a decade ago can still haunt ya...lessons learned I guess

              Re: Crime Records

Aren't those misdemeanors? They are non-violent. A domestic violence will hold ya up. I know that. They wanna make sure they don't have someone that will cap someone on the ketchup isle in the grocery store over the last thing of mustard.

I'm thinking, like Fuzo said, that those shouldn't be blocking the system.
You have your rights still, correct?..you can vote and shit?..Or have gained them back after the punishment/probation, whatever, right?

Here i some infor for you:

Q: What are the requirements for obtaining a license?
A: The concealed handgun law sets out a number of qualifications that must be met. Your application packet will list them in detail. For example, you must be a legal resident of Texas and you must be qualified to purchase a handgun under all state and federal laws. A number of factors may disqualify you from obtaining a license, such as: felony convictions and some misdemeanor convictions, including charges that resulted in probation or deferred adjudication, pending criminal charges chemical or alcohol dependency, certain types of psychological diagnoses, protective or restraining orders, defaults on taxes, governmental fees, student loans or child support.
The application packet also will include information about materials you need to return with your application packet. These include: two recent color passport photos, two sets of fingerprints taken by a law enforcement agency employee, a copy of your Texas driver license or identification card, and a notification of completion form (TR 100) from a DPS-authorized handgun course.
After receiving completed application packets, the DPS will conduct extensive background checks of juvenile records for the previous 10 years and all adult records.

in the dark basement of courthouses, you can get a copy of your record most times

it takes time but going in person you should get the records, email, i dont know

                    Re: Crime Records

worst case I'd think, is you'll just have to seal that case.
                    Time consuming bs.

I just don't think that should hold you up. It's been long enough for you to regain your rights/clemency.

                    Is Texas a (shall-issue) state?

Yea it does say delayed...but says without full disposition information, your application is incomplete and we are unable to determine your eligibility for the license.

                        Did yours say that bro?

                          Re: Crime Records

You got nuttin to worry about. They just need you to send the requested info so they'll have their "full application". Get that sent and you're all set. or you wouldn't have a shiny new G26 thread. ya know? You can't purchase a firearm if you don't have your rights. You'll be all set.
That 'delay' sucks, huh. Everyday is long if you know you got that piece of plastic, that repeats your rights, to come in the mail.

In Texas your records are "sealed" but any cop can see them listed on your record. They just can't access the details. This is why they want you to disclose the details to them.
They call you paranoid until the worst happens, and in the aftermath they will call you a hero.
