It's sick. It's hard to imagine how mentally sick some people are. Politicians...that are just twisted for an agenda.
Can we get some pure hearted, compassionate Americans that are true patriots that feel deeply for this great country?

I remember the chunks of tar that washed up on the beach here on the Gulf Coast after the Exxon disaster.

I was just thinking. I wish the media and everyone would go on full attack of those that have opposed drilling our own resourses. This incident, the Exxon Valdez, that's all on their shoulders. Those people have chose to burden the circumstance by relying on, and funding, very corrupt people for oil. Then, they raise the stakes for disaster much higher by loading tankers to max capacity for them to brave the treacherous seas with that load.

Anyone see Carvill going off on obama on fox? Carvill(sic) is the biggest liberal on earth and he was infuriaTED that obama has been playing golf, basketball and has yet to go to the gulf, where people are going to lose jobs on a massive scale. I hadnt even thought about this spill being a big bonus for liberals, but you guys are right. Liberals are happy that an oil well is ruining the gulf, just like they are happy when a white male commits a terrorist act. What a country we are becoming!!!!!!

This is exactly why this scum bag will lose the election and like ive said from the start he was another jimmy carter but worse. He lost all the republican vote now and lost all the Ind vote and is losing the democrat vote big time now.

wont be eating much fish either...the gulf area affected by the oil supplies like 70% of the countries seafood....oysters shrimp and alot of fish will only be eaten by the wealthy here pretty soon....james is right. Hay is a comodity right now...the droughts in the west the past 10 years has promted power companies to by out farmers for their water shares....ther is a high demand for hay everywhere right now, that farmers cannot keep up with...plus the recession has driven most ma and pa farmers into bankruptcy.....beef, milk, would go up to a price most americans could not afford, and then pork and chicken farmers would raise their prices too...because there would not be the seafood/beef competition...bad idea

At least it would help the fishermen who are out of work right now. And the farmers would actually have the option to partake in some extra work if they would want too. Supply will eventually catch up to the demand, it always does. I bet their is other forms of grass and such that works just as well as the hay they were using, i guarantee they could make it work if they wanted too.

how the hell could they partake in extra work????mother nature only grows so much...you cant just snap your fingers and say i want to harvest 10 crops instead of 3...

Because exactly like you said, local farmers are going under. They could be compensated for helping out, getting tax breaks and such to farm specific goods that are a necessity. I actually know of farmers who have unused land, because it is more profitable in some instances to just let it grow over for hunting property or let it become ranch land or even just plant a bunch of Pine trees. If the government made it financially worthwhile to do it, people would respond. Their is plenty of land laying around guaranteed. Its everywhere in Florida and Texas for sure. Sure the hay may have to be spread thin for a little bit elsewhere but it would bounce back quickly. If WW3 began and weapons and aircraft and ships were needed asap what do you think would happen? Car factories may become tank manufacturers and tons more workers would be hired to build the ships and planes; the economy can be shifted towards necessity quite easily.

Funny thing is meat, mainly beef, would possibly be cheaper at first because some ranchers may think it is better to slaughter more cattle now then temporarily pay higher hay prices, this could flood the market of beef and reduce meat costs at first. You could then buy more and freeze it for a cheaper price, and in 3 months or so when hay becomes all to easy to come by again things will go back to how they were. At least thats a possibility lol.
