fibromyalgia? My symptoms point to this and my doc believes this to be my diagnosis, however, I am undergoing some tests to rule out other things.

Re: Has anyone been diagnosed with.....
This diagnosis is really becoming a catch all. Many drs give this diagnosis when they dont know what else to do. Yes, there is a chart with, I believe, 18 points on the human body. If a certain # are tender to palpation, then they call it fibromyalgia. Keep an open mind baby1...I would load up on anti-oxidants to decrease your over all inflamation. Maybe some Wobenzym tabs, papaya, turmeric, etc. Ive seen many people get hooked on percocet or vicodin after receiving this diagnosis. Many people give up when they are told they have fibromyalgia because they are told "There is no cure and you are going to have it for life", that is why I hate this diagnosis. To many, it is like a death sentence. I have seen way too many people recover from this dreadful "disease"...I hope and pray you will be ok and that you dont have "fibro", as some call it. If you do have it, it is not a forever thing, no matter what the MD tells you

stick with the neurosurgen before you get all goofy with this. baby1 doesnt know if she has this or notDisclaimer: Steroid use is illegal in a vast number of countries around the world. This is not without reason. Steroids should only be used when prescribed by your doctor and under close supervision. No, I don't think that is what he is saying. I think he meant this for me. I am searching for answers because this chronic pain is very wearing on me. It has taken a big toll on my strength, my activity, my sleep and my emotions. I am not one to give up and I won't let this get the best of me but being in this pain is really testing me.Veritas Vos Liberabit

So do you not believe in this diagnosis? I agree that sometimes docs make certian diagnosis when they don't really know what it is. I read that this often happens with a diagnosis of MS, as well. I am actually hoping that something is found through the tests I have, just so I can do something about it. This chronic pain is very debilitating.Veritas Vos Liberabit

Re: Has anyone been diagnosed with.....
very sorry too hear, chronic pain is debilatating, it is a vicious circle, pain produces more stress and more stress etc. u get the drift
i'd say you're in a better place than most due to your intuition and awareness, just follow what u blieve and factor into the equation it could be a long haul to recovery
