  • Bushmaster BA50 Carbine

    Holy F%$@#ing carbine dude!!!
The Bushmaster BA50 Carbine is one hell of a 'carbine'. I guess you can call this 30lb beast a carbine being it's a .50BMG sporting a 22" barrel. Bushmaster does. Drop the [carbine] and it comes with 30" barrel and extended scope mount.
The .50 Browning Machine Gun round was used for the 2nd longest sniper-kill ever logged. In 2002 a Canadian Col, I think it was, dropped a Taliban at just under a mile in-a-half. 1.42miles. (I was just reading)..Then in 2009, that record was broken when a British Calvary soldier killed 2, yes 2, Taliban machine gunners at a distance of exactly 1.5miles. A .338 Lapua was used in that one. or 2. But the .50BMG is the sniper round of choice now with rifles like this Bushmaster. There are match grade .50BMG, and at that size, 700-800gr traveling at 2,900ft/sec packing 15,000ft.lb of energy. That's all bidness.
What's way cool, and I'd love to feel it to believe it, but Bushmaster claims a recoil similar to a .243 due to the muzzle brake.

    Here's the BA50 Carbine.

      Re: Bushmaster BA50 Carbine

yes sir. It'll punch straight through a duece -in-a-half diesel engine block.
That'd be fun to have out where you shoot. Have an old rig deisel momtor and punch holes in it. Stack shit behind it to see just what stops that .50BMG. You just can't use the term "plinking" for that. Cause it ain't plinkin with a .50BMG. But target shooting could get crazy with that beast.

        Re: Bushmaster BA50 Carbine

        This is another awesome machine.
        The Barrett M82A1.

.50cal as well. This joker is a semi-auto, short recoil,(it has the muzzle brake needed for a rifle such as this too), with match grade barrel. Chrome chamber. 10-shot mag.
        Price: $9,345

Big toys. That make big noise.

              Re: Bushmaster BA50 Carbine

I own a Barrett model 99 in 50 BMG. Long range shooting is definately an expensive hobby. You also have to be careful where you shoot it. The berms at the average gun range aren't adequate to stop the bullet.

yes sir. You have to be well aware of down range and well beyond with a machine like that.

That is awesome that you get to shoot like that when you want. Wanna be bffs?lol...
That is killer sir. Awesome machine!

                    I wanna see.
Now with the movement of the .50BMG in more than just M33, having match grade ammo. There are a few more rifles in .50BMG available to the public.
I wonder if I could ever dig into that hobby.yyyeah...

                      Re: Bushmaster BA50 Carbine

Just remember that a quality scope for competition shooting at 1000+ yards will cost you $1500-2200. And think of shooting it as slinging $5 bills down range. I just got some incendiary rounds and started a small grass fire on the range lol.
