This is something that I do wonder about. You have made your very strong opinion towards war known. You despise it. You have said that you do not support conflict in any way, and won't tolerate a president that continues our involvement in the middle east. Hence your disapproval of McCain during the presidential race. You were won over by Obama's words, and have supported him since.
How did you adjust your feelings on the war when Obama stayed the path, and stuck with the previous administration's plan in the middle east?..and if your answer is that you still despise war and any president that partakes in such conflict, then how do you still support Obama?

based on his performance from where i sit most all he has done is play it extremely safe on everything, taking the "if i do this and it doesn't work out, i can't get in that much trouble................this is the type of change no one can believe in..................he is still likeable, and most trust him, yet, it would seem to me he has pleased no one and enraged few,ie, meaning the ones who were po'd he was president arre still po'd, this will not change

life, things in history play out over time, like bush has said often, my legacy will not be known until 50 years from now, and i agree with him, in 50 years two generations in the middle east will have played there role in the world, and perhaps, peace will be pervasive there because so many are sick and tired of constantly fighting with one another over stupid shyte

i've always dispised clinton, he's loved by most democrats because he was a strong democrate, and he did do some good things, welfare reform was a great policy..........yet, in my eyes he is a dobule dealer, he allowed so many rich people to create new loops holes and get special laws just for them shows his true stripes

obama, hell i don't know what will happen, it is just that in times of crisis, deciciveness matters, and haven't seen much of that to impress

thats because this guy has never run a business, made a payroll, really done anything in his life to amount to much...what exactly did he organize as a "community organizer" anyway? i understand that he worked on a grand total of 2--thats 2--court cases as an attorney. i do not for the life of me see how anyone could have voted for this empty suit. on that entire thread i started, there was not ONE post stating why anyone voted for this guy. and if you DO ANSWER here, please, please, drop the "it's George Bush's fault" or the "i hated bush" junk.

this is obama's mess now..and I'll bet he and rahm are loving it..rahm stated himself that they should never "waste a crisis"--these are times the govt can grab more power as the people are in an emotional state.

the oil slick will force cap and trade forward; remember obama's words during the campaign that his plan will "bankrupt the coal industry"; further, obama and company are dreaming of $5 a gal gasoline.

the AZ law will force "comprehensive immigration reform"--i.e. votes for the dems. book it.

"a realist...it is what it is..." hmm...no need in really digging up bones for this, but if I'm not mistaking, I remeber you absolutely despising war and on the point of 'no reasonable excuse or grounds for war'.(not quoting just remembering your stance on the subject.) There are posts where you stated something to the tune of, 'nothing good coming from war, regardless of circumstance, and not supporting anyone's decision for war'. Again, not exactly quoting. But you know where you were. You saw no need for war and couldn't digest, tolerate it, whichever fits...Now with the quote above. It's as if you've either developed an understanding of certain wartime circumstances, or you've simply adjusted your view based on leadership.

well, i did not take conflict to mean war, in my business conflict is rampant, conflict of values, etc.........to it has a specific meaning for me, so i didn't pick it up as war

maverick is a BRAND NAME earned over twenty years, the general populace were not in a risk taking mood, please note when palin was picked i said give it 3,6,9 weeks, and after her initial bump it was downhill, people generally hate surprises, imho, i thought if he had chosen Tom Ridge, and didn't pull that stunt around that first debate, he'd of had a better chance

I didn't realize you needed further implication of my use of 'conflict' for your understanding, being it was proceeded by "war" and used in the same sentence with regard to our efforts in the middle east which clearly defined my use of "conflict".

You have a unique take on "maverick". You have a "Top Gun"/Tom Cruise type of take on the term. Hollywood gave it hell didn't they.lol..."the patterns full!"lol...ohh...anyway. If you get a minute to look up the term Maverick in the political sense. There's actually a definition for it politically. You might find it refreshing compared to where we've been over the last decade.

I'd love to Fuzo but as I said last week, I am done debating with Trip. No disrespect to him, it is just a complete waste of my time. no problem, the issue with "words" is different people define them differntly all the time, maverick is so embedded in people's physches it would take several generations to change it's meaning

another issue is people in general procrastinate, thus when folks finally got around to deciding presidency, the maverick acted erratic, which he has for most of his life, and that scared most folks
