American AK

How bout that. Who woulda thought?..We now have 100% American AK-47s. They're sweet too. Well made. I held one yesterday at the same gun shop where I bought my RomanianAK. It was about $30 cheaper too. But the 100% USA AK is a god one. From reciever to barrel, to trigger group...Made in the USA! Quality from top to bottom. Dimpled receiver, so it will hold metal mags without any mag wabble. It was nice to see a finished mag-well. The rifle is on point. Most quality AK I've held. It was made by Inter Ordnance out of North Carolina. It had a nice stamp at the front, bottom of the receiver. It sports a slightly larger grip that fits my American hand better than that little one that comes on the imports. I like it. I want one. It's basically the Romanian AK with an American receiver, and better pistol grip. The only thing Romanian on my RomAK is the receiver shell.
The one thing that sucks about the American AK is they come with those crappy Thermold mags. But, with the dimpled receiver, you can grab some good metal ones.

It was $499+tax at my LGS. not bad at all.
When I got back to the house, I researched them online. The price range I was seeing online were folks paying $600-$700. which these days, for a quality AK...that's a bargain in most places. Folks are handing over $1500, without batting an eye, for a Krebs job. Mr. Krebs builds a nice AK around that Russian Izhmash receiver, but this is 100% made in the USA! mm mm mmm...That stamp, in itself, is worth allot to me. I could enjoy that in conversation.
If you can get your hands on one, you'll see the quality. Second to none. They do come "Americanized"...in black..."the black rifle" look, and so on, but I prefer my AK with authentic wooden furniture. The wood does have a laminate finish as decent, or better than, the laminated Russian AKM or Mak-90.
