The way the PGA tour players train now, they are in as good of shape as any other athletes.
nope...i watch football becouse my son wants to watch it....do i enjoy it? its alright. you cant make me watch baseball..i enjoy hockey and thats about it. i do like the mma fights i've watched...i just havnt gotten into it. and i'll put chris chelious against any fukin golfer, lol

He is human like any other person, role model or not. There are MANY famous/ role model people out there doing the same thing but just haven't been caught. Hope he does well in the tornament.

i'm my kids role model...my son LOVES football, but i remind him often that none of them are superhuman...his dads the only superhuman, lol. seriously...i actually am mindful of that and i keep him focused on the play, not the man...the mans just a man

Well I'm with Dave on this one- I don't like golf(and yes I have tried to play before) and I could care less if Tiger fell off the edge of the world. Like it or not these so-called superstars are heros and role models to a bunch of people and they should try and at least lead a good and honest life. If his wife wasn't giving him any or he just wasn't happy, then he should have been man enough to end the relationship without putting her through this
Sometimes good and honest people have "diseases" and there is nothing they can do about it. Whether or not this is the case with Tiger, we will never know.....but we should assume that it is because he got medical attention for it. The kids should look up to his play. He is a good role model when he should be a good role model. You can't expect the guy to live some kind of perfect/alternate life outside of golf just because he is the world's top player. I can honestly say that if I were to become rich and famous tomorrow, the money would probably change what I did just because I could afford to do more things, but I don't think it would change my personality to the point of not drinking, or not going to parties, or not eating chocolate in fear that a kid is looking up to me and gets fat because he eats so much chocolate. If you really dove into finding stuff on most of today's top "role model superstars", then you would probably be surprised at what you found!

Just like hockey, many people enjoy golf. I don't know crap about hockey! So if something happened to their top player where he cheated on his wife or whatever the case may be, I probably wouldn't even comment on it just because I played it that once in my friends street on roller blades...because I don't like hockey and don't know the first thing about the person they are talking about. I have no idea how hard it is, although it looks like all you do is skate around and hit a puck with a stick until someone gets a shot at the goal....sounds easy. Just like golf doesn't impress you any, hockey doesn't impress me. It takes a VERY high level of hand eye coordination, natural talent, practice, strength, flexibility, etc...to do what the average player does just as it does in hockey minus the teeth. Now mutiply that by 10 and you have a PGA guy....then mulitply that by 10 and you have Tiger.
What is really ridiculous is that we as a society hold these athletes up on some pedestal and expect them not to have any lifestyle flaws and that everything they do must be perfect. They are just humans like any one of us. Had our parents had the money and foresight to start us out at a sport at 3 years old, then we would probably be in the same position they are in right now.....does that mean that there are a set of rules that we would have to follow to be considered an athlete? Kids look up to MMA fighters too....and they beat the crap out of each other. The get paid to smash another guy....come on!

John Daly is STILL one of the best golfers in the world. He is fat, he smokes and drinks beer by the case and probably has never been inside a gym...How many guys like that could be a pro in any other sport?

No, no, no. Don't take my reply the wrong way. I don't take it personal at all. I am just saying that there are two sides to everything. I did look him up and nothing stands out as really all the great IMO. I am sure he has many hockey accolades, but other than that, he didn't seem superhuman or anything. I mean golfers are just as athletic as anyone. They get up at 5, do their workouts, eat, etc....just like any other athlete. You should take a look at Tiger's daily routine, or Camillo Villegas. What they do in a do is nothing short if any other athlete. I am sure that a MMA only fan would say they would put their favorite up against any hockey player or golfer, but that doesn't mean anything. Hell, I know a country music singer that has been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu all his life and is very well accomplished....unless your hockey player knows BJJ, the beer bellied country music singer would run a clinic on him grappling.

who is Tiger Woods????? Just kidding! Never watched before and wont start now. Golf on TV at my house would be just something to sleep to. I tried golf and to me it seems like human fetch. I do think the guy is lucky that he is famous as he is or he would of been arrested that night he crashed.
