Has anyone heard what is going on with him and HBO? I know they delayed taping the Sopranos because of his contract negotiations. He wants big money but doesn't understand unlike Friends, The Sopranos does not have high syndication value. They tested running older episodes and from what I have read very few people are watching them.

I guess $400K per show isn't enough!

Here is what is going on. He is making $350-400k/episode. He wants $750-1.0m per episode. He originally asked for $20 million total and is now down to $16 million, whereas HBO is offering something like $11 million. Things look like they have been settled now with Gandolfini withdrawing his lawsuit and HBO expected to follow suit in the next couple of days. They could start filming new episodes by next week. Apparently Gandolfini will be making about $13m for the new season. That more than doubles his salary, since they film 13 episodes/season.

And let's be real, he makes the Sopranos. And somebody is making that money, why shouldn't he be entitled to it?
