Fox News interview with my brother

My brother got an e-mail from the producer of Fox and Friends about doing an interview on an upcoming show. He received the e-mail last week and has since spoken to the producer over the phone about the segment they are going to air. It turns out the producer read a journal my brother co-wrote with his economics chair and mentor during his PhD program and liked what they had to say, thus wants to interview them both on a segment discussing the negative effects big government has on our economy. My brother wrote his dissertation 4 years ago on that very subject and has written a lot of papers on it since. The only problem right now stems from his former chair who co-wrote the journal with him. He's pretty sure the chair does not want to do the interview for fear of repercussion due to the overwhelming majority of liberal professors at his college. However, my brother teaches at a fairly conservative school in SC and is not worried about it so he is going to try and do the show on his own so long as the other professor doesn't object. Isn't that a bunch of crap that a professor has to be careful about doing an interview on a conservative station. Do you think this would be the case for a liberal professor? Heck no it wouldn't. There is a huge double standard. My brother even has to be careful in writing his journals or they will not get published, such as being too harsh on the federal government. What a crock. Anyway, I think it's cool that he got the call from the producer and I imagine he will do the show alone. They said they will arrange a limo to pick him up and take him to a local studio and do the interview via satellite. Pretty cool.

perhaps the other professor has had some media stints before, like most things, pro's and cons, not everyone wants media attention, just saying

Yeah, and it would be even better if he could plug my upcoming website..lol, not gonna happen. I still need to finish that darn thing too by the way, been in a slump lately but still pumping out blogs on a consistent basis.

I doubt that's the case because my brother knows him very well since he worked for him and was mentored by him during his 4 years of PhD school. From what he tells me, if you are a conservative professor you have to be very careful in sharing your views or you will get screwed over somehow, especially if you're not tenure yet, but that's not the case with his former chair obviously. My mom's cousin is a conservative professor who teaches back east but used to teach at University of Colorado until he got fired. He did an interview on Bill Oreilly several years ago and that was the last straw for him. They actually had him fired. Apparently, they had been trying to get rid of him and another conservative professor and with a few weeks apart ousted them both. It may sound crazy but it's true.

Good grief, sounds like we are becoming another Soviet Union or Communist China. Freedom of speech? Only as long as you are touting the party line.

Let us know when to look for your brother. Tell him to keep spreading true conservatism. Conserve America's original state.
There are still some excellent universities all over the southland that haven't been overtaken by mainstream, leftist ideology.

What happen to Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech??? Its sad that Proffesor is man enough to write something like this but doesn't have the BALLS to back up what he wrote. What happen to men having a SPINE??? GOD I MISS BUSH- at least he had a spine

I said the same thing, but my brother pointed out that when you work for a bunch of liberals and have a family to feed you have to watch what you say in public. It is ridiculous though.
