A majority of Americans now believe President Barack Obama doesn't deserve re-election in 2012, according to a new CNN poll released Tuesday.

Just 44 percent of all Americans told pollsters they would re-elect Obama in 2012, less than the slight majority who said they would prefer to elect someone else, according to The Hill.

CNN reported their poll showed Obama faces a 44-52 deficit among both all Americans and registered voters. Four percent had no opinion.

Meanwhile, Obama’s approval/disapproval ratings are basically tied -- 49 percent of people told CNN that they approve of the way Obama is handling his job, while 50 percent disapprove.

Respondents to CNN were split at 46 percent as to whether they preferred a generic Republican or Democratic candidate in this fall's elections.

The CNN poll, conducted Feb. 12-15, has a three percent margin of error.

Marxism doesn't scare people anymore. Most people either have no clue as to what it is, or they are too naive to believe that it someone who is a Marxist would try to pull a dictatorship on our country. Stimulus did not work imo, but there is no way to prove it. Also, gold standard is the only smart means of issuing a currency, thus in that regard Ron Paul is spot on. By the way, though I am aware Paul is a true libertarian to the core, he is actually a Republican. I don't see either party as worthy of holding office but the Republicans are the lesser of two evils. However, Ron Paul is my man regardless of his party affiliation, he is a libertarian at heart and has good principles that we could depend on.

Trip, you give Obama too much credit. The man is a failure thus far and he is too radical to ever change his ways. His stimulus was ridiculous but convincing enough to the undereducated majority of Americans who have no understanding of sound fiscal policy or economics.

Why do you call Luntz a propaganda babe? I am not saying that he is someone I necessarily like, but he does run a respectable pole company. All of the poles are very close and even CNN's poles show the President's approval ratings below 50% lately. The only propaganda I see is coming from the White House full force. But the whole entire political arena is propaganda, health care, cap and trade, global warming, etc. It is all bs and propagandized to brainwash the ignorant sheep to believe their madness.

Precisely, how can you support anything Obama has done and then claim to support Ron Paul. I assure you that Ron Paul does not agree with one single thing that Obama has done, including the ridiculous stimulus that did not do a thing except pour money into banks that needed to fail. The home mortgage loan program was a real winner too huh..lol, I live in Vegas and don't know anyone so far who has been approved for a refinance, but I know a whole hell of a lot of people who have foreclosed and still are foreclosing. This president is the most radical worthless pathetic President this country has ever had. I am not even sure if he likes our country even the slightest bit.

Just want to clear something up as ive done some educating on ron paul,and like I said like some of his ideas but i'm being realistic and the people wont vote him in office.If he was for the war then my view would change 100% for him

stimulus money does stimulate that's factual, it not working would be like saying when you spend 50 bucks at a restaurant it doesn't count as revenue, money spent is money spent

stimulus has a long history, you spend x, you should get y bump in spending, this time it is well short of historical norms, which means, one thing, to whom the money went, bills were paid off, not new spending

as i've said, bama chose a path of least resistance, ie, the thinking of you can't get blamed for stimulus if it doesn't work because everyone does it, which imho, was not change anyone believed in

the weakness showing in obama now is somewhat similar to bush, bush was a horrible manager because he picked incompetent people, and let them do whatever, obama has okay people yet he's hands off managing too many things, it would seems he's focused on afghan which, while i disagree with being there, at least they have a plan and our implementing it, on domestic issues he left it too others, bad move imho, very bad

while i want to be positive, we are at a bad point

a. europe will almost certainly have a huge double dip
b. china will finally be exposed as to the reality of there own huge credit bubble
c. our states and muni govs are pretty mess'd up
d. about 4 million foreclosures coming this year
e. all political waters are dicey

now, if all 5 pick up steam too downside, ron has the right ideas and it woud seem more and more agree with them, don't forget obama got a majority of folks below 30, ron paul was energized by college kids waving the flag, so you got a sandwhich, young below and old on top, and disgust with both parties in the middle, where will they go, only the shadow knows, lol
