AK report

I took the new AK up to the farm this morning to see how it runs. It runs like a Kalash is supposed to. flawless. It is one badass mothasnatcher. I forgot how unique they sound. It has a burst(small bomb) sound rather than the bang of hunting rifles.
It's amazing the way it slices through half inch steel like butter.
It ejects the shell casings a good 20-30ft. It's just badass in every aspect.
I love my AKM.

I got a case that's made just for original AKMs. It's pretty cool. It's made by Hybrid Technologies. The "hybrid" is because it looks like a soft case, but it has thin fiber glass panels in it, so it has some hard case protection. It also has 4 magazine pockets, and a padded pocket for whatever. The mag pockets need some breaking in. I can hardly fit my 30rd mags in them.

thank you. It is something else. I'm glad to have one to call my own.

I want to get the Ultimak gas tube rail for it, and a red dot sight.
I've decided I want to keep the wood furniture, but put a nice finish on it.

It's amazing at how hard and fast it hits. Some of the things I shot showed the damage those 7.62s will do. I only had full metal jackets, but I shot a gallon jug of water, and it just blew up. Just tiny mist blew out. It turned the plastic jug inside-out, and somehow, the container landed halfway bewteen me and where it was sitting. It must've bounced off something too fast to see, or just the "explosion" like effect did it like that.

I meant to bring my camcorder, or camera to get some footage. I should've taken some pics of the steel. That's something. how it cuts through it. It opened that milk jug up and flipped it inside out.

I'm gonna try to remember to go by the store and get some big fruit, canned sauce, etc...just pic up some cool stuff to shoot.
I'd like to pic up some HPs too. I found 'em online for a great price over in TX. "Cheaper Than Dirt."

I forgot the camera again, so I just snapped some phone pics.
Here is a hole it cut through steel. I want to get some thicker pieces to see how thick it will penetrate. It went through a steel frame last weekend and hit this thick steel pipe about 20ft behind, and went through it too. All at least 1/8" wall thickness. This piece is quarter inch. Solid steel.

Here's a stel frame I hit. The entry hole doesn't even dent. Notice the dents from, literally, hundreds of rounds that have hit the frame. Then there's the hole from the AK. I hit this last weekend shooting at a can of juice I set on it.

Wolf FMJ 123gr.
Love 'em for the AK. Russian rounds for a Russian Rifle.
