7.62x39mm...I can't wait to go bust some rounds off.
FMJs. Should be able to punch through 1/2" steel. The 7.62x51mm does. A little more umph with it though.

Russian ammo for a Russian rifle.

I've wanted a true AK, (original caliber), for a while. I really have wanted the AKM, which is exactly what this is, but the Romanian version. Not 1 difference from the Soviet except the ridges on the top of the receiver. I'm already in love with it. It's just one hell of a design! One tough mahfogga.

It was $499. $539 out-the-door
With all the military garb. leather sling, oil & cleaner can, cleaning rod & kit, bayonet kit, 2 Tapco 30rd mags. It has the new Tapco G2 trigger.

Gotta grab one now. 10yrs ago, you could get one like this for $200 bucks.
Any AK. from anywhere. That's one of the most attractive points, is the price. The toughest, most durable, most dependable rifle ever made.
And this rifle is a blast to shoot. It has a sound, and feel like no other.

I have the Chinese SKS in 7.62 x 39 from waaay back.
I have the one piece aftermarket stock from Ramline
and a fixed 30 rd mag. I like that yours has the detachable mags.
That cosmoline is a biotch to get off huh?

yep. The SKS. That was the Kalashnikov design that the 7.62x39mm round was created for. Then Mikhail Kalash released the AK in 1947 to fire the same round.
The finest stuff to come from Russia.

sub MOA accuracy.
OK, but if we're falling out of the troop transport into a battlefield of dust, dirt and mud?
I want the AK 74 or one the AK family.

come on down south. Get outta that weather. I have a little piece of land to take the family for the day, or weekend.(if they wanted.) Shoot guns, ride 4wheelers/whatever...hunt, if ya want. There's a lake. A camp-house.
Good wholesome fun. Get out, spend some time in nature, and you might even learn some things about yourself.
That's some of the best times in many folks lives.(the outdoors. not just our farmland, ofcourse.) I've heard that from my cousin that's been going up there lately. He talks about how beautiful it is, and how it so pieceful. If I hear of him taking another buddy up there to deer hunt, he'll loose privilages. But anyway, You'd be with the owner. My cousin's a guest. And his guest got an 8 point that weekend. 2wks ago. We gotta get a hold on this guest of guest bs.
But anyway. It's nice. Pieceful. Until I start a little racket.lol...Those AKs sound like a small grenade, or something. They're unique. We used to bring folks out of the woods when we would shoot the other AK where we rode our dirtbikes. People would come up on their ATVs, bikes, whatever..."what the hell is that thing?" They could hear it over whatever they were riding.
Damn, They're fun! I have a date with it Saturday morning. I can't wait!
