I also think your reaction was the correct one. Number one, you never know what these young punks will do these days. Many of them would rather shoot you than fight you. Number two, what you did was set a very good example for your son.

Me on the other hand, I tend to flip out when someone says something like that to my wife. The last time a guy said something like that to an old GF, I ended up punching the window out of his car. Granted this was about 10 years ago, but when I hear someone disrespect my woman, it just flips a switch and I don't control it very well.

I'm right with you tn94z. My wife got to see me in action on one of our 1st dates. well, it was about our 5th. This was in '96. Some dudes yelled some vulgar shit as they were cruising out of the parking lot, so I told them to circle around. My, now wife, was sitting on her trunk. I was standing facing her just talking. The parking lot was empty. I had a friend sitting by the fence about 30yrds away. I wasn't just gonna call a car full of dudes out without some back. So, the guys came back around. Guy got out of the back holding a Busch lite bottle by the neck like he was gonna swing it on me. I got a quick jog towards him and k.o.ed him with a left. My feet were set for a left. That little charge towards him put some decent power behind it. When I saw that bottle though, he was getting everything I had. (I always had to go hard) I was a little skinny shit. Then, of course, the other dudes got out. I just remember the passenger being a decent size boy, and he got to me first, but I was doing good with him. And remember seeing my friend beating the hell out of the other dude that got out. It got broke up by the club bouncers. They had to wake the dude with the bottle up. Me and my friend were good with them. We were locals and regular VIPs. The head of security at that club was another good friend. He lectured the dudes, told 'em to hit the road, and that was that. My wife's car had a dented front fender from someone.
Another time. Same club, same year. A guy I grew up with started shit with me outside for some stupid shit. And I got to finally set him straight. We always butted heads in school. I didn't realize it until after me and my wife had been dating for a couple years. One of her best friends, and bride's maids, was standing right there when the second incident happened. So, my wife heard all about that one. He got dropped pretty sweet. My wife's friend loved it. She still talks about that silly shit.
That craziness was over 10yrs ago, though. I was a young buck. 'invincible'. Had nothing to loose. Damn sure didn't like to loose a fight or any pride. Who does?..but it changes allot when you're a grown ass man with a family. You have bottled, real life stress, and possibly pent up anger. You fight with more passion. You probably won't loose at all cost. so it's just best to steer clear of any physical contact. Cops want somebody to press charges now days instead of just brushing it off, and telling the parties involved to go separate ways. Too much to loose.

Yeah, mine was when I was like 20 years old. We were standing in the street by our trucks talking and these 2 college guys drove by and swerved at us and my cousin yelled at them. We didn't think anything about it, but when they finally turned on the main street they yelled something back at us. We jumped in my truck and chased them down (they got caught in traffic). So I pulled up beside them (we were in the wrong lane) and my cousin started asking them what they had said. I was still calm at this point. My GF started talking too and the driver said "You need to shut up b****!" This flipped my switch and I was out of the truck and in his window before my cousing could even get out. I am yelling at him telling him to get out and he starts to roll his window up. So, out of no where, I punched the glass out of his door. It shattered too man!!! It shattered so hard that the pieces cut his face up and the guy in the passenger seat. They tried to take off and ran into the car in front of them, so we got out of town.

A few hours later the cops caught us and we had to go to jail and have a talk with everyone. The good news is we are locals and well known, so we basically got off with a warning. They didn't even make me pay for the guys glass.
