  • disrespect in public place

we went to eat dinner late last night at wendys and 3 young men sat next to us, possibly drunk. (wife and 11 year old son were with me)

they started cussing and talking about banging girls

before i could ask them to "cool it" my wife told them to stop cursing and have some respect.

they laughed and told her to "shut the *uck up" ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,my wife told my son to go wash his hands.

i told the guys i would call the police if they didnt shut up.

my wife shrugged and rolled her eyes.

one of the guys had an embarrassed look and apologized. they shut up.

in the car on the way home she asked "why didint you tell them you would beat their butts"

i was shocked! she wanted me to fight?

she later told me she wanted to see how all the $ we pay my MMA coaches in action.

i laughed so hard and hugger her. but i am too old and wise to go to jail trying to impress a girl (especially one i have been with for 18 years)

I think your reaction to them was great. As we get older, we get wiser on how to deal with situations. It is probably not a question as to if you would have beat their asses. I am sure your wife was really happy you reacted that way, and when you have your child with you, you really want to avoid confrontation. It can get scary for a child when things like this happen.

Definitely agree with baby and the way you handled the situation. A saying "never mess with somebody who has less to lose in life than yourself". In other words, the possibility of losing your family for jail time or them possibly getting hurt, your financial assets, stability in life, etc....It's alot to think about when it comes down to it.

You did the right thing and that wouldn't have been a good thing to teach your son, but I can't say that I could have contained myself after they said that to my wife

You know its really bad how society (young generation) acts these days. I mean Im not a older gent but man, I was brought up with some f'n manners and people acting like that is embarrassing not only to them selves but our generation. Also after doing martial arts for about 13yrs you prolly know as I do, sometimes when you have the knowledge to do so, you know you better hadnt!

              Re: disrespect in public place

^I don't get it either. I don't understand why the generation coming up have to be so disrespectful. Then I guess there was older people saying the same things about our generation. I honestly don't know any of people from my generation that acted that way.

Jipped genes, I think you handled yourself very well. I don't get your wife. I'm not like normal women. I would hate to see E have to fight someone for being stupid. If there was a real danger... that's a total different story.

                  Re: disrespect in public place

I couldn't help but think of a line my buddy always uses on me or anyone else when we talk about smacking somebody down. In a very high pitched, excited voice he'll say: "What a GREAT way to get a FREE ride in a police car!"

You handled that like a pro, broh. You didn't add mo' drama to the drama, and everybody got to go home at the end of the night.

Good to see that you handled it in a very professional manner, even after what they said to your wife. Don't think I could have been that restrained if they had of talked to m wife in that manner.

yeah man. I couldn't imagine the strength it took to not invite them outside after hearing those words come from a punk. Make sure their above 18 and go to work. That boils my blood just thinking of hearing a punk saying that to a man's wife...especially in front of your child. I'm sure you wanted to mark them for life for that one, but you did good in keeping your cool.
That punk will end up scarred for life with that attitude.

I've heard women, not long ago, talking about getting to see their man take up for them. so it must be something some women enjoy to see. at least once. Especially for their honor. I think that's a little imature though. A woman might learn she wished she never got to see something like that once it's happened. I would let her know that she'll only see you physically defend the family at last resort. And that punk wasn't worth all that could result from it.

Ive been trying to get it out in kick boxing class and I have been trying to get rid of it at taebo class and in the gym but I just cant release it.But I know that the right thing was done.

Good job jipped, Like Dave said, you would be the one going to jail most likely. Just not worth it these days. I would probably have had a few more words of advice for those young ones on a little respect.
