That is because I have no disrespect for anyone working in a union, however the union itself I do oppose. I can't blame my friends who work at the airlines for being in a union, yet most of them understand the socialist aspect of the union. I don't blame my step father and uncles for being in a union because they are boilermakers, but I do blame them for being brainwashed into thinking we all owe them for our salaries. That is the view my step father takes and it is ridiculous. A good portion of union members will spout off the same boring old line that unions are what prevent the greedy business owners from taking advantage of us. Then, those who talk like they aren't a fan of unions will often say that unions had their place. Well, I am saying neither. They never had their place. It is a communist approach to steal wealth from the true wealth creators and give it to the employee. But the common man who has no drive in life and does not understand capitalism does not get it, thus it is difficult to debate. If you believe so strongly in your unions then fine, that is your right, but stop claiming to be republicans will you. You should be grateful that Obama is in office because he is possibly the strongest union supporter this country has ever had serve as President. Unions will get everything they want with him in office and the rest of us will suffer.
If you are simply in a union because it comes with the job then you can be a Republican, which is the case with most of my friends. However, if you praise unions then you are praising socialism, and thus not a republican.

This forum is to debate and give your opinions but not say I wont come back here fitter. If you ddnt like what someone said then tell them why and debate them back and prove them wrong. Obviously I'm no union leader hell I guess I would consider myself a simpleton of sorts. I certainly don't consider myself a brainwashed communist like has been stated above since I'm in a union. My company is certainly not going bankrupt because I work there. Because of my training and the skills I obtain I actually make my company alot of money thank you very much. And I am very valued there if you can believe that. It's a win win situation for both of us.
I'm all for capitalism, I believe that's what I'm trying to do by working with my union. With them I'm able to earn more than my non union counterpart doing basically some of the same work. Trying to better my way of life and provide for my family. That's all I'm doing. Is that wrong? Being brainwashed I'm not sure anymore. I'm not trying to distroy this country,my employer or be a communist in any way.

I was merely stating my OPINION of what unions lead to based off of my own research, experiences, and beliefs. I did not call anyone a communist, but did say unions are a socialist structure. However, I did say that if you completely support unions you are supporting socialism. I also did say that communists (Marxists primarily) support unions. And need I mention again that this president is a huge supporter of unions and yet obviously a socialist with Marxist views.
In addition, I would argue that you cannot support true capitalism while supporting unions because a union intervenes in the free market the same way as governments intervene.
And yes I will talk to people in real life about this. I have a family full of union workers and plenty of friends who are in unions as well, but most of my friends are NOT in favor of a union but accept it because it comes with their job. If you work for an airline as a mechanic, pilot, etc you will be in a union. However, many of them are strong republicans that do not support their unions objectives, especially the politicians their funds often go to support, such as Obama.
Take what you wish from my views, but realize that it is just my opinion on the subject, though I do feel strongly about it and speak as if I am correct because I believe I am and I have a strong passion for my views and am confident. No harm meant but if people want to take it that way then no problem to me either.
Also, I don't debate people in real life that are not well studied in politics and economics. It is too difficult and a waster of time. Once someone has there mind made up and reveals that they are close minded, it is not worth the breath to attempt to convince them otherwise.

I'm me in person as well, "thank you very much". There's no fronts with me there guy. I've been told i'm the realest person by a few different people through life. "thank you very much." that's got to be the gayest, snooty, bytch phrase ever uttered. You better watch your assumptions about people, or you might find yourself garbling blood laying flat on your ass. But I don't even have to inquire. I know you wouldn't even fix your mouth to say what you just wrote to me in real life. well, for one reason, you would've already learned I speak without reservation when needed. so that little remark would never even cross your mind, much less your mouth. You'd remain on safe ground.
