Hey Guys,
I was just wondering what you uber built guys do when it comes time to buy clothes other than gym type stuff. Do ya have to get everything custom made, or is there a tailoring process for some kinda off the shelf stuff for the built set?

custom made suits. A good investment. but buyer beware.. I have bought custom suits that are excellent, and others that were crap quality. Your suit should be hand made in Hong Kong.
You can buy some off the rack stuff and have it taken in. Just depends. Get a tailor for alterations and another type tailor who does just custom suits. He really only measures you and has the suits sewn together in hong kong

Thanks for the reply, DZ. I find all this stuff fascinating, but don't know if I'll ever have the "problem" of being big enough to need custom suits made. lol. But one funny thing...I have a racing jacket that I've owned for 15+ years that I wear when I show my car, and I was thinking it would be a bummer if I did get so buff that wouldn't fit me any more. But like you mentioned, maybe I could get it altered. Oh well, I can dream, can't I?

the last suit i bought i had altered on the spot. The had a latino fella that barely spoke english but man could he fix a suit up. The bigger problem i have is when i buy things like jackets for my motorcycle or a plain old winter coat. D is right though if you really want something nice have it custom made when the time comes. It will fit so much better when it's all said and done.

I DONT BUY SUITS ANYMORE.IF I'M HAVING TO GO TO A SPECIAL EVENT I'LL BUY SOME CHEAP SLACKS AND A NICE CHEAP SHIRT AND IF IT LOOKS SHARP I'LL BUY IT AND ITS CHEAP. I USED TO GO THROUGH SUITS 1 A YEAR AND I BOUGHT EXSPENCIVE SUITS BACK INT HE DAY NOT ANYMORE.SO IN A FEW MONTHS IF MY SLACKS DONT FIT ANYMORE I'LL GIVE THEM AWAY THEY WERE CHEAP ANYWAY

well...if i went back "in the chair" and had to suit up...i have versaci's and hugo boss suit and shirts that i paid BIG money for...i dont know that there's enough room for alterations in the chest shoulder or back area...i would go to mens wharehouse and get a couple tailored...atleast 3....and ralph lauren shirt were made for body builders, lol

dont really have the choice, ok now im a fatso, but normally when im in normal shape.
I have to get a 72 jacket for the shoulders and arms, it fits just right, the chest is tight
but the problem is that these jacket made for people, well their waist are usually the size of the earth

Lol, you guys are the best. One goal I have on the horizon is my 30th high school reunion in 3 years [Yeah, I'm old. Class of '83, oofah!]. For that I will invest in a nice suit, if I'm in the shape I wanna be in. If not I guess I'll just bust out my fat boy slacks and a big sweater. Hmmm, wonder if they still make leisure suits? Considering I was "class clown," that might be par for the course for me...

Oh snap! Honestly, broh...I had a lime green leisure suit back in the late 70s! I wore it for my 13th or 14th birthday party, and my g/f at the time bought me a cheap gold chain that later turned about as green as the suit! Gotta love trying to be a 70's macho man back in da day!
