a point about safety

I was just overhearing Fox & Friends, and Glenn Beck just stated that the safer you make something, the more dangerous it becomes because people take more risks. Such as Rugby and Football. More head injuries in football and they wear helmets.

I figured I'd put this thread here because I fully agree. I ride my bike much harder when I'm in full gear, than when I very seldom hop on it without a jacket. I definitely won't be on the back tire at 45-70mph without one.
I couldn't imgine even going around the corner without a helmet. I'd ride bicycle speed.

yep..i agree. thats why i dont make my kids wear helmets on their bikes

yeah, the new law for children and helmets on bicycles lasted a few months. and that was in the "uppety" hoods. The $350k+ neighborhoods. You'd see kids in their little helmets. It never even took in many, as you could imagine. Now, I don't think any kids wear them on their bicycles except for the real little ones.

On the flip side. I probably could've benefitted from a helmet on the half-pipe when i was into that stuff. Probably one less concussion.
Pads helped allot.
But on the topic at hand. If I were on the ramp paddless. I wouldn't have tried, and landed, some of the stuff I did without the equipment safety subconscious. It is safer, but you do take chances you wouldn't without it. Hence more head injuries in football than rugby.

Its not riding season... stop talking about it. Im gonna put all my gear on and walk around the house. ****ing chicago.

lol^..The roads are drying off, and it's about 70 outside. I might ride the R6 for my afternoon errands
