Re: Health care loophole would allow coverage limits
I just had back surgery in October and had to come out of pocket $600 before insurance paid the rest. But yes I am aware that I have a good plan because I work for a large company, and also I do not have a family. But I am in the process of building a business and I am not happy about the costs I will have to pay if I quit my job one day and provide my own coverage, especially the fact that preconditions are nearly impossible to get insured. I know there is a problem with health care but my point is that the government does not care about us and is not going to fix anything. Without tort reform you cannot fix healthcare. Also, how do you expect the level of care to remain high when we already have a shortage of doctors and they are going to add 40 million people to the system. Not to mention less people will become doctors when they can no longer make the same money. Once you take away the incentive the quality of care will go down. That is a plain and simple fact, people do not go above and beyond for no reward. This notion that the government knows best is insane, which is the problem with the collective elitists.
As for your costs, I feel terrible that you pay that much, and I assume you have shopped around and that is the best you could find. The policy I found for $200 per month in the private sector had a $2,000 deductible, which is high but worth every penny of it if you had a major accident and racked up tens of thousands of dollars in bills. Still yet, your plan sounds high, perhaps it is because of the state you are in. I work with a lot of contractors who purchase their own insurance and I know families that pay around $600-$800 per month but with a family of 4. Seems like you could find a better rate but I bet it is your state that prevents this due to not being able to cross state lines for insurance. Either way I hope something is done to bring this cost down but it is unlikely without the 2 things I mentioned. Of course, the dems plan will help you but the trade off will be quality.
