Does everyone really have it in them

I know alot of people say they would do anything to take care of there fanily if harm was beiing done to them but wod you actaully kill someone if they were attacking your wife or kids. I know deep in my heart I would kill someone without even hesitating if they were doing harm to my wife and daughter I kid you not. They both mean the world to me and I wold protect them at any cost

I don't have a wife and kids. But I'd truly do that to protect my girlfriend and her daughter.

I definitely would but that's the thing. Most people say they would but we've all heard stories where people don't because of fear or whatever. It's one of those things where you won't know who the bull$hitters are and who's not until it happens.

like klash said...thats one of those questions that cant be answered 100% until, god forbid, your in that situation. i, like all of you, believe i'd kill the fuker without blinking an eye...i really believe that. if it was a case where it happened when i wasnt around, and i had the opp. to grab the guy off the street...i'd do things to him that would make him pray to god that i'd kill him!!!

Ive got to agree with most of you that i would for sure. This may sound a little crazy but i have always wanted to know what it would be like to shoot someone or beat them till they don't move anyways. Yea i may have some problems, but i know right from wrong.

I, at times, have nightmares about someone harming my family. In each one of them, I end up killing them. However, as you guys all said, you really do not know what you will do until confronted with that situation. People's state of mind react differently. For instance, one could go into a state of shock and become immobile due to disbelief and great sadness.

Most of the fights that I've been in in my life have been defending friends, which I consider family. That along with I've been trained to kill if I need to, I wouldn't think twice about it if someone was a threat to my family.

It is literally strange to me, when I hear of someone not taking care of business. Then you sometimes hear of men that have never, in their whole life, been in a fight. That's even strange to me.
that said, there are those that would lock-up. They're out there by the bunches.
odd though, because I believe that a natural instinct. An almost animal, offensive defense would kick in along with a load of adrenaline which should over-ride every second guess, and absolute and immediate action would spring into effect.

I guess allot of that is a person's personality and nature, again. Allot of it is how you're raised. What you're taught. Survival. Protection. Compassion. The most dangerous thing to mess with is a man's true reason for being. If that's his family, which it is in most cases, then nothing else matters. The only real thing in a man's life is being compromised, so then everything else is expendable for the security of his family.
I don't know or understand why, or what, would make someone not take immediate action.

I would do anything to protect my family.....ANYTHING! I can say right now that I KNOW I would shoot them. But to answer the "shoot to kill" question, I agree that one would have to be in that situation to know the true answer.

All I know is that in my handgun class, I was told to "shoot for the mass" and that doesn't translate to shooting them in the knee cap

Well...i was taught to aim for the chest, but i would shoot to kill if it were a loved one that was in eminent danger or myself. If you just shoot them in the leg or arm they can actually sue u and their family can as well even if they are breaking into your home. My lawyer told me that. And make sure it looks as if they were coming at you to do bodily harm.

people lock-up because the brain is overwhelmed with the information it takes in and the senses get overloaded

prior training and athletics help, in sport we react based on visual information and we react quickly effectively with some strategy too either overwhelm, abort, stop, or conquer

so the lock-up can happen in 4-5 seconds, and your window of opportunity is gone

plus, alot of folks naturally wait for verification from others on what is what and what to do, and again you don't have time for that, u must stand up alone and first
