Just got a Jury Summons in the mail. Crap!!! Its Dec 10. I know peeps who have had to miss all kinds of work for a trial. Im one of those people who has to go to work every day. I dont work, I dont eat. How do I get out of this? Im thinking of showing up and acting like a lunatic. That shouldnt be very hard for me

i was called 1 time and they asked me about drunk drivers...i said that a drunk driver cost my brothers life (true story)...i was out!! you dont necc. have to be prejudice against race...if they ask about prejudice's just say "as long as they aint fukin muslim!!"...you'll be gone!!!

I was going to try the same "racist" thing when I was summoned for Jury duty. In PA, we get a questionare that is mailed with our summons. I told my bud, who is an attorney. He laughed, and said that is the BEST way to get called in. Attorney's know people do that stuff on purpose. So he said, they're usually the ones they call in, just to piss off. Wether or not you get picked is a different story. But they will make you come to the court house, just to spite you.
Again, it may not be that way everywhere else. But here in PA it is.

I have never served jury duty as of yet, waiting for the knock on my door from some court sheriff though since I threw 3 out in the last 6 months.
^hahaha, you guys are freakin hilarious...Ive thrown them away in the past and nothing happened but am probably going to show up this time. A girl I know got picked this summer for a 2 week rape trial. The evidence was so horrific and grotesque that many of the jury members had to get psychiatric tx afterward. They even had to start a support group for the 12 members of the jury. Many were having nightmares and PTSD. OMG! I so dont have time for this. I have enough stress to handle

If I remember correctly, you are a business owner? Yes? No? If you are a business owner, you have a good chance of not getting picked, since your business is your source of income. If you were employed by someone, you would still get paid. But if your business closes, you make no money.
However, you could do what I did, and say no to every question the attorney's ask you during the screening out phase. Everything they asked, I raised my hand.
"Does anyone have a problem with this woman suing for medical malpractice because she smokes?" I raised my hand.
"Does anyone think this woman shouldn't sue because it was an elective proceedure?" I raised my hand.

^yep, I think the business owner idea might be the most legit for me. I suppose some might argue it is part of our "civic duty". Well, my civic duty is that I go to work every day and work my ass off and pay taxes out the nose. I think if someone is receiving unemployment checks, they should make them sit on a jury.
