Windows 7 the next XP

Well I was wrong. It sounds like "7" will be the next XP for Windows. After 3yrs with Vista, I thought Vista was the 1 when it came out. But, common marketing sense would've told me that of course Vista would be just a flashy, not so great, bridge for their next good one. Which 7, after listening to people that have been testing it for months, is all that.
I watched a demo with it on TV just now, and it is cool. The gentleman showing it off, not a MS rep, just a gadget guy for a news station, said that 7 is indeed everything that Vista wasn't. And he's been running several different versions offered for the last 3 months. He said without one issue. Ran perfectly.

Welcome Windows 7. I'm not going to say the new cliche for "see-ya Vista".

We just bought our current computer last December and it has windows vista and I hate how this computer works. I'm not a knowledgable computer person and all I know is this one is always giving us trouble. We've been thinking about upgrading to windows 7, good idea or not?

i havnt had a prob with vista at all...been fine. my wife's gonna see if she can get it (7) from her sister (a manager at best buy), but i could care less

I have a few friends that got early releases of Windows 7 and they have had nothing but good things to say about it. 2 of them are just casual users and 1 is a business owner. I will be upgrading soon. You can find it online for like 129.00 so its not that expensive.

With that being said, I have a new Macbook Pro coming in today. My laptop crashed last week and I was tired of all of the viruses and crap that Microsoft puts out, so i decided to go with a Mac.

Maybe one of you techies can enlighten me but is there a point (other than profit) of Microsoft constantly jacking with the operating system. Sometimes it's better, sometimes its worse but they always have a new os every few years.
Remember MElinnium, jeez what a joke; I think that one was only out a year or so.

I been crossing over between a Mac and PC for over 15 years now. I've only owned Mac's even through at times I've had PC's where I worked. I have to admit that the new Window 7 looks like it's going to be a very good product for MS. Those touch computer screens are pretty cool too.

But this doesn't mean I'll trade in my Mac.

I've been using windows 7 for a little over a month now and it is hands down the best operating system out there. Everything about it is amazing, from the glass windows, to the error free running. I have had no problems what so ever. Plus, when you install it, it instantly installs all drivers for you, which was a huge deal for me because I installed it on a computer I just built.

Buy it. Also, teachers and students can get it for 30 bucks.

gotta keep producing the next new shiny os with more bells and whistles for the consumer. Marketing 101,huh. And we eat it up. Because, after all, what's Microsoft having to keep up with? or "who", I should say, are they having to top? They just keep out-shining themselves. I can't hate on 'em for it. Ya gotta think. That's a company of programmers, IT geeks, tech-nerds, etc..always at the drawing board, trying to out-do the next guy. (I can so picture the day to day in the programming dept.lol) So, we're gonna always have "the next big thing" from the folks at MS. But, XP has had a pretty damn good run! What's it been. Wasn't it released in '01-'02?..and still going...

"profit" you say...yes...I'm sure that's where Mr. Gates & peers are primarily geared. Hence Vista, ME, 2000...they had about 3 OS available during the turn of the mellenium. They flood the world with these lemons. Then save face with something solid like '98, XP and most likely 7, keeping a loyal consumer base. profit.
