ok...i know we got some people around here that believe's the swine flu thing is B.S. and over hyped, but i just want you all to know my wife's brother just got out of the hospital in fla. we went over to see him lastnight. he was in for 4weeks!! the virus did so much damamge to his lungs that even though he's home, he's on o2 machine and has to do breathing treatments. hes self employed and dosnt have insurance...he rent a beuatiful home that hes about too loose, (i'm gonna try to get ahold of the landlord and see if i can talk sence into the guy), and dont know when he can get back to work. he's 32yrs old. they used the paddles on him 2x's...this kid was pretty tuff!!!

i dont think i'll be getting the vaccine, but h1n1 is no joke. it may hit some harder than others, but i see that it would take the life of soemone weeker!!

Wow, Glad to hear he is doing okay. We thought about getting the vaccine for the little one, but it is so new and that scares me to. Don't know what to do and we would be lucky to find it anywhere around here. They are out of the regular flu shots in our area, already.

its scary...its confussing...i dont know what to do either. now, he's got a 6yr old daughter, a 4yr old daughter and a 14month old son. none of them or his wife got sick...it's weird. man...to see him would really make you think. this shyt is real

it's suppose to hit people 18-35 the hardest but the weird thing is, is that they wanna give the vaccine to the young and the old who it impacts the least. It can do damage for sure. If anyone really gets sick seek medical attention. Other than that though there is really nothing you can do. I am glad he survived bro.

My 4yr old daughter did fine with it. Not fine, but she's had bad colds that put her in worse shape than it did. It made her very sick to her stomach for the first day. She couldn't hold anything down, and a fever hit her immediately. Then she ran a fever with a soar throat foir about 3-4 more days, and it was a very low fever. around 101-102, which is not high for a child that age. And I'm guessing I had it first, and gave it to her because I was sick the week before, and ran a low fever for a few days. The doctor I saw on tv said that is you caught something other than the cold, that made you run a fever for a few days, it was 97% the H1N1 because the regular flu hadn't started yet. And you can tell the difference in that and a cold because a cold creeps up and gets worse, where the H1N1 hits you hard and fast.

An H1N1 virus gets less severe as it evolves. They say that it can kill people with underlieing issues such as immune deficiencies, etc...but it is getting less potent as it goes around.

I'm sorry to hear your brother in-law had such a time with it. That sounds pretty damn severe! I hope everything works out for him.

I have heard that peeps born before 1950 are immune to this virus since it was last active in the 30s and 40s. Any truth to this?

i dont know...my dad got the shot (i'm pretty sure) already...i dont think we're going too, but it is scary shyt. if me or boo went down like that, it'd whioe us the fuk out!! seriously...any hope we have of saving our house would be gone....completely. seeing what happened to jesse is scarey ass shyt!!!

thats what i'm saying...i dont know wtf to think. after seeing him, i'm thinking about maybe doing it....ya know...everyone who been against getting it, i dont remember any of them saying they or a loved one has/had it? i know a couple of peeps who say they THINK they got/had it. well...if a doctor didnt say you got it, then i dont know that you had it

thanks bro, i will....how can an illness hit you but not your kids or wife. thats the weird thing. i'm going back over there today. we're all gonna get together. my wife, her older bro. him, their dad and i think my wife's step-mom (jesse's mom) is coming over from the other coast....i dont think we've EVER all been in the same room. i think that'll help jess...i think he needs something like this
