LOL...Has this ever happened to you? You get some kinda warning about some threat of some kind, ie terrorists, hackers, viruses, etc, then you forward the warning to everyone you know,plus the whole family here at FG, then you find out the next day on Snopes that the entire story was totally bogus and fake?

I've had this happen to me. Now I always check Snopes before I forward an email. 9 time out of 10 they are fake.

I'm always getting those type of emails from my nephew's girlfriend and I have to end up sending her the Snope link to inform her that it's fake. But don't worry Dzone, I've often corrected FUZO after he's posted such threads too. LOL

hah. at least they got a good drama story.

There are a couple people that constantly send me those emails. They're also the same ones that send jokes, and not so fun-facts. And one of them, my mother, always asks, "did you read such-n-such email?" I hardly open those things unless the title really catches my attention so I'm all, "nahp. haven't gotten around to it yet" constantly.

I need to remember snopes more often though. Can't you look up urban legends, or just rumors, on Snopes as well? I know there's some website that verifies, or can't verify, "urban legends". or just bs that gets around about stuff. Like certain gun makes blowing up.
