  • Deep's sons new bike

Well I picked up this 02 KX 85 from a guy that his son raced it in Houston. There is not much stock about it- bored out to 100cc and has all JM Suspension- screaming little dude, but I have to buy a seat cover:

and I found a project I'm going to look at this morning- 91 Suzuki RM250 with a freash top end- needs some work, but a solid bike:

badass little bike! the green machine...while you're giving that seat attention, it's about ready for a rear tire.
Good lookin bike though. Very clean. You can tell it's put a many numbers on the lap timer. But it's kept up very well.

As for that RM 250. My friend had a '96, and that was the fastest dirtbike I'd ever rode. I had an '89 CR-250. The one with the Bull-Taco opposite side kickstart that year. I remember thinking, "holy shyt!" when I got on that '96 RM. But...it was state of the art, at the time, having almost a decade on my CR.

If that's the 85Pro, then those things will freaking get down!! Your son will have a blast on that thing

I believe that is a 85 mod bike. they are pretty sweet and you will get better life from the 100cc motor than the stroker version of that motor. That bike isn't going to run many hours in between rebuilds though. I know a guy whose son races them and they rebuild every 10 hours sometimes less. Nice bike though i bet it screams.

Yeah, the bigger bores are much better than strokers as far as reliability. I used to race mini-sprints which had 250cc alcohol motors on them and I rebuilt mine after every 2 races with new piston and rings. Of course, mine was a big bore stroker along with our little tweaks so it was under alot of stress.

well I'm on my way in the moring to pick up my new project. Motor is upposed to be sound and all it needs mechanically is the carb rebuilt. It will need all new plastics, but he has an extra set of brand new tires going with it. I'm getting a 99 Yamaha YZ400F:

Picked it up today- definately a project, but very doable. Guy gave my a brand new set of tires so I will start working on this piece by piece. I hope to have it riding i a few days only to set it up and strip it down for a complete going through

The good thing about it being a 4 stroke is you won't have to go through it ever so often once you do it one good time. It'll crank and ride out for ya every time for a many a hours.

HOW BIG IS YOUR SON? THEY MAKE 2 VERSIONS OF THAT BIKE...THE REGULAR ONE AND THE "BIG WHEEL" VERSION FOR BIGGER/TALLER KIDS

WE RACED A MANY OF THOSE BIKES IN THE SUPER MINI CLASS, THOSE WERE FUN DAYS! YOU WANT IT TO SCREAM SOME MORE FOR LITTLE TO KNOW MONEY? CHANGE THE GEARING WITH THE SPROCKETS, DELTA FORCE REEDS, AND A PRO CIRCUIT PIPE...THEN TAKE IT FOR A SPIN.

WE HAD OURS BORED, PORTED AND POLISHED AS A 112CC IN A BIG WHEEL 85 FRAME. THAT SUCKER WOULD EAT 125'S ALL DAY LONG!!

The boys 85 is NOT an 85- has a new jug and head-I got it from a kid who is supposed to be an 8 time champ out of Mich.- I believe its right around 100-105cc right now.- add one tooth on the front sprocket- DID chain- J&M suspension, I need to by him a new pipe, but I just drug my 400 home today- so I have a project to get rollin

I KNOW ITS NOT AN "85"...ITS IN AN 85 FRAME THOUGH...EXACTLY WHAT WE HAD. HE WILL ENJOY IT! THE ONLY DRAWBACK TO RACING IT THOUGH, IT THAT IT CAN ONLY GO INTO THE SUPER MINI CLASS WITH OTHER MODDED BIKES!

GETTIN HIM THE BIKE MAKES YOU A SUPER COOL DAD DEEP!
