  • My cat may need knee surgery

Well my 8yr cat did something to her kneee and she might need to get a 2k knee surgery to fix her propblem. We gues when my wife was vaccuming the hous she was in a room and my wife went into the room and the cat hates that vacuum cleaner she took off really fast and got her paw or nail or something snagged and hurt her knee and now she has a floating knee the doc said. He said it could of always been there but now she pulled it out,who nows but she seems to be getting a little better in walking so hopefuly she will recover and we wont have to get this yet

Re: My cat may need knee surgery

Well Fuzzy- you know I have many animals, but the day I even consider a 2k surgery on my cat, well I guess you know. Lets just say I had a horse colic a few years back and the Vet called my @0230 saying we needed to take her up to Texas A&M for surgery to save her, well the response I gave her was- Just keep doing what your doing and I'll pray for her! I payed $2500.00 for that horse and there was no way I was gonna haul her 2 1/2 hrs from home for a surgery that cost $2000.00. She did pull through by the way (after a $1000.00) Vet bill

I know how you feel Fuzo. Non pet owners need not reply to this thread. They'll never know the feeling of having a close pet need something like a surgery. I remember when my cat died 4 years ago, she was at the vet for several hours being tended to. At 3:00am, the vet called to tell me she was on life support, and what did I want to do. $1300 later, I told them finally to pull the plug. However, if there was hope, I would have told them keep going, no matter how much it cost!!

pets are part of the family and it sucks to have to go thru something like this.

years ago my dog became very ill very suddenly. brouht him to the vet and they saud his internals were shutting down. they thought it could have been from drinking antifreeze. Well, long story short, i kept him on life support for 1.5 weeks at $300/day based on the docs advise. people had said the doc is playing you for your money and the dog will never come out. i did not want to beleive it so i left him on till the day he did pass. SUCKS

I'm sorry to hear it. I hope she comes around without having to drop $2k.
