ive not heard anything like this in chicago or on the news. msnbc can go fuk off. this wont last there will be a uprising. what about testing for cocaine or pot or heroin. bull shit this wont last if indeed its true but it isnt on the news yet here

Out of more than 45,000 students tested for performance enhancing drugs in Texas, 19 came up positive. The cost of the program over the two years was $3 million, or $157,894 per positive test.

That's expensive testing to only catch 19 students. Is steroids that big of a problem in the high schools? Personally, what a waste of money. That's $3 million that could go to something much more important like books and computers!

dam fuzo...you aint heard about this??!! lol!! its been in the news for a couple years!! i remember when texas announced they were gonna do this it was posted on here! i just thaught everyone would like an update of what a useless program it is. they've tried 2 times to start this in michigan but it keeps getting voted down...it wont pass up here...not when texas spends that much $ and find a couple kids?? no way!!!

It's messed up. Now I'm not for kids taking steroids until their growth-plates are closed, but, doctors even prescribe anabolic steroids to some adolescent teens that are below average in hieght, or to help boost puberty in some teens.
I knew a guy in high school that was prescibed anadrol, I think it was, because he was short. And not like midget, just a decent bit shorter than every other male in school.

If they wanted to demonize a drug, they should just test for rec drugs. It's a fraction of the cost, and they might curve useage. But, they would probably loose half their student body. That could be why they aren't persueing rec-drugs.

Leave and let live. It's probably best for kids to get experimentation out of the way early, before they have a family and life's stresses piled on.

I'm just thankful they started this well after I was in school-LOL. Big waste of money!!!
