ok...just want to make this clear for the remaining smokers on the board. all you guys who keep putting off quitting and you hear all these people telling you how you get your breath back, you can smell better, food taste's better i just want to say bullshyt!! i quit smoking back in april and i figured i'd give it time, but it's been long enough. food that taste's like shyt, still tastes like shyt. things that smell like shyt, still smell like shyt (oddly enough my farts still smell like bananna's and vanilla), and i dont have anymore stamina on the treadmill than i had before. other than saving me money (which is reason enough nowdays) i can honestly see no reason to stop. if i were in a better financial situation, i would quit denying myself the simple plesure of a smoke now and again. (exspecialy after sex and a good meal....oh and if it was a good meal during sex, thats even "sweeter yet" pleasure i am denying myself, so...you know...that sucks)

LMFAO! this is f**kin great...lol...makes me almost want to pick up a packon the way homethe only problem i have with it is being with a chick that smokes in an enclosed car..that can be groddy when you go to sniffin her hair

yea, well there's certainly SOME draw backs..its just all the "oh things taste SOOOO much better" and "the roses smell SOOOO much better" is bullshyt...but, yea...my wifes hair and hands smell like a fukin ash tray...BUT I DIDNT NOTICE THAT SHYT WHEN I WAS SMOKING!!!!! so...i guess i got me too blame for that too!!!!

I'm none smoker and always have been. I've never understood the attraction to smoking. Kiss a guy who smokes and it's like kissing an ashtray. People who smoke don't really realize just how bad they smell.

My grandmother smoked and when we were young, we tried everything to get her to quit including hiding her cigarettes. She did eventually quit.

believe me. I know how bad they smell.
Parmesian cheese smells like shit, but I enjoy it now and then as well.
Garlic. That's another one. I like garlic. You just gotta know how to not smell like those things. There are ways to keep that nasty smell away.
Thank god we don't all smell like the things we sometimes enjoy. And there's a difference between someone that walks around with a cigarette hanging from their mouth, and somone that enjoys one or 3 a day. And usually the people that smoke a pack a day smell like it. Like I said. I enjoy a cigarette at times, but no-one could tell I smoke. guaranteed. Unless you grabbed me right after a cigarette...Otherwise, the smell is taken care of immediately.

oh, and just "to set the record straight" for me. yes, the nicotine does have a calming effect. That's one of the main reasons I enjoy a smoke.

now, I'm gonna go think about the day, enjoy a smoke, and lay my ass down. It's way past my bed-time. g'night.

but when your hammered in a bar looking to get laid either party doesnt really cares because there smashed and just wanrt to get laid,lol. I cant stand the smell anymore. I havent smoked in 4 years and i'm glad I dont anymore. I quit cold turkey. I was a 8-10 cigarette a day operson. But when I drank then a full pak a night.As for tasting food any better it still tastes the same wether I stopedor not

well I used to smoke 2 packs a day (Salem lite 100's) and quit before my son was born( 13yrs ago). It takes quite a while for things to come back, but its definately worth it. Dave what you trulely have missed is the fact that YOU don't smell like a cig anymore and you clothes don't have that smell anymore. Its funny how when you quit- you can pick up on that smell from other who smoke. Whether thing taste better really doesn't matter as much as the good thing your doing for your body-health-and family- stick with it Bro

I agree. If you can't smoke and go without for a day, a few days, 2 weeks, however long you wanted without any issues, then I would never pick up another smoke again.

If cigs are a (must have) type issue when you're a "smoker". If you can't run out or it's bad, or just have to light up at times, but you beat them now. Then I would leave them alone.

i know...i was just fukin around....just a fun vent.
but my wife didnt quit....and i havnt said anything too her yet, (made a couple small comments a few weeks ago, but it was in fun), but lately the smaell is REALLY bugging me. it smells like she rolled around in an ashtray. i dont have any constructive way for her to avoid the smell while she's still smoking. she's already smoking outside only....it just stinks so bad...and it's NOT all the time. i can just tell a day where she smoked a little more than normal....wierd

oh god no...yeah man. Ever walked into a house that people smoke in? whoooo...it's rough bidness.
My uncle does, and he's a couple pack-a-day person. I can't go over there anymore. I would go in for 5 minutes and come out smelling like that. shirt, jeans, hair, everything. Just by walking in for a minute.

Thats how I started to quit- wife quit first and wouldn't let me smoke in her car- then she wouldn't let me smoke in the house- finally it became to big of a hassle to have to get up and go outside to smoke
