my oldest son is getting married saturday. i kinda thaught reason would set in and they'd decide to wait, but i guess it aint happening. i love my son and his girlfriend is a very lovely girl with a good heart, but i just think they are too young and rushing into it. hes 20 and shes 18, and both are getting ready to go to school...but, i do wish them the best and will support them the best i can.

That's tough pally. I feel for you. 20 is definitely to young to decide whether or not you want to settle down for the rest of your life.
Here is my honest no joke answer. When my wife and I were having issues a little while back, we were going to individual counselors in the beginning. My counselor said "Most marriages would be saved if people went to a marriage counselor BEFORE they got married!" I was curious, so I asked What he meant.
Very simply, he said "If I asked you to name 3 reasons why you wanted to marry your wife before you got married, what would you have said?" So I did the usual "Personality, looks, sense of humor...." He just went into detail on how much more there was before I got married that I should have known. Like "After we're married, and we get into an argument, are you the type of person to sit and argue it out, or leave?" There were tons of things that he brought up that I said "Holy shlt!" Had I went to a shrink before we got married, I may not have married my wife in the first place!!
Consider that option with your son and his fiance. Sweeten the deal. Tell them you'll give them $XXXX towards a down payment on a house if they complete pre marriage counseling.

good suggestion a.o.m., but i think you missed the THIS SATURDAY part, lol. no time and he aint postponing. his dad and step mom and grandparents have already came in from florida. (he's mt step son but we've been together since before he was 2, and his dad and me get along good. there's never really been any prob's between us all). it's too late for all that, and that stuff youi mentioned will probobly be what does them in!! she already "leaves" at any sign of an arguement. she's called off the wedding and broke up 3 times since this has been planned. they've only known eachother for 7-8 mo's!!! he's just the type that always takes the long road. always does things the hard way and wont take advise. he's a block head.

oh brother. yep. sounds like you know exactly what the future holds for 'em, but you know, ya know everything when you're that age.
I hope for the best for them and all families envolved. and hopefully they'll make it through that part of life, they'll get to in about 5 yrs or so, when they realize they know nothing. HOPEFULLY!

That must be tough... especially when you know how hard the road is ahead of them. I was 26 when I got married the first time and it was all wrong. They are so very young...
I wish them the best and hope they can stay together.

i know guys...be lieve me, knowing sucks. i wish i was as dumb as them, lol....i tell him to wait atleast 5 years before getting married...there getting married after 7-8mos. i tell him, wait 5yrs before you buy a house....they went looking today and made an offer on 1!!! i told him wait 5 years before having kids....the way this is going so far, i'll be a grandpa before the end of 2010!!!
