What do you guys think? I have a 2007 vette and was looking to get into a 2010 Z06 when they come out. Then, while in the barber shop, i picked up a Car and Driver magazine. In it was the GTR and for which they said outperformed the vette (non-Z06) and 911 on the test track. Didn't think much of it at the time cause, from the picture in the magazine, i did not like the looks. however, on my home from work the other day and up in the distance is the rear end of a car that i have never seen before. As i pull closer and up along side, i see this thing for the first time. Tell you, i was not only impressed with the looks but also the sound of this car.

My previous car before the vette was a 2006 350z Roadster. Traded that for the vette due to performance but was originally dissatisfied with the abundance of paint chips and nicks that occured on the entire front end and hood after only 7k miles.

don't get one. they have had a lot of problems with them and also they will void the warranty for almost any reason that you can think of. Also if you turn off the launch control more than like 3 times or something bam warranty voided. I would stay with the z06 better car better resale better performance.

You know, when looking in Yahoo auto reviews, some folks did mention that LC button and the warranty. I did not know or understand what that was.

IM NOT TOO KEEN ON THE LOOKS...IT LOOKS LIKE A CROSS BETWEEN AN ALTIMA, 350Z AND A CORVETTE REAR END (LIGHTS)

        NOT TOO IMPRESSED HERE

bro put a STS turbo kit on your vette. you will save $40,000 and have a reliable car that will probably out run the new ZO6

i am a LS motor guy.

the LS3 can be modded to put down 800hp at the wheels and be as tame as a kitten until you hammer it

I love it, its my screensaver actually. Sick ass car all around, but If you are in the market for a 100000 or so car, just wait for the new acura NSX, its being built around the concept of being better in every aspect over the GTR. Its gonna be real sexy, but you would need to wait about a year or so.

true that! Save your money. You can throw down big bucks and look good, and yeah, you'll have a ride that performs well. Or, as jipped said, you can put a few bucks into what ya got, or something with plenty bang for the buck, turbo that joker, a little inexpensive bolt on here and there, and you will eat that GTR, NSX, or whatever cool guy pulls up to the light next to you in thinking he's got the shyt.
sorta like the dude that just threw down for his brand new Challenger SRT-8. takes it to the drag strip to stomp some ass, and jipped hands him his own ass with his little GTO. yep

sounds like you get bored of cars quick! (my kinda guy, lol). try it out...it looks good. if you did a 1 pay year lease, you can dump it back off to the dealer at the end of the year when it bores you. i seen 1 yesturdat while i was driving in virgina...or washington...somewhere around there. (actually...thats all you see around here is jap cars...kinda sickens me, but whatever. kinda helps explain why this nation is so fuked up). it wasnt my thing...i do think the z06 is BAAAADASSS and it will be easier to get rid of when you want to move on. if you decide to keep it, you almost promiced it'll go up in value based on its short production numbers

Hey man good info. I really do not know much about that though. Recommend any sites for me to go to or point me to that kit

                  thanks

                    Re: Nissan - GTR

i agree with jipped except the sts turbo kit is not what you want for that vette. they don't have enough ground clearance for remote turbo kits in my opinion. I would go with a under hood turbo or a positive displacement super charger like a whipple or kenne bell. With one of those you will have some serious torque. check out ls1.com you can learn all you need there.

Yep your right about getting bored quick. Drives my wife, and her family, nuts. Tell you though and way before I got vette I had M3, S4, G35 coupe and then the Z. Not sure what made me do it but i test drove the vette. HANDS DOWN the best car of the all in terms of handling performance etc. So i really do not want to buy a different car just another vette, Z06. However and the reason i started looking at other performance cars was that the vette has these little anoyances that the dealer tried fixing a few times and has yet to. For instance, i can't fill the car with gas cause, when i do, i get a leak at the seam in the panel right above the GM emblem in front of the rear tire. freakin stains the panel and is a ***** to get out. the memory seats constantly lose the memory, tire pressure gauges go faulty. I'm due for an oil change and will bring these issues up again. Also let them know i will buy another if the price is right. Don't want to lose me as a customer

Yea, or you might pull up to a faster car, stock for stock, that also has a turbo, then your screwed.

http://www.smokinvette.com/ they built an 800 HP vette that is as reliable as heel and that is 800 hp at the tires, not the flywheel like the Z06 640 hp.

Only cause my wet kit hasn't arrived yet
But that's the name of the game. I used to hit the drag strip almost every week for test and tune night(run what-you-brung). There's always someone faster...somewhere. That's street racing. But, imo, it's best to stick with the domestics that have been around since kindom come because of the massive availability of aftermarket parts and bolt ons. And, they don't want your first born for a simple exhaust system mod...once one is available for it.
