well my baby fuzo took first place in her forms division then every winner in there division had to go up and get scored she and a blue belt which was a 13yr girl had to compete with each other and ofcourse they gave it to the higher belt and she got the grand champion trophy. first in her division over all 2nd


Now for sparring they didnt know how to score for shit. baby fuzo got 3 points taken away for kicking to the head. She did it on accident ofcourse and thats why she lost,they didnt lay out the rules until she hit him in the head. the other guy went out of bounds 3 times and didnt get any deductions. she struck more to the center but I guess they saw it differently. 2nd place for the 5-6 yr old division. I'm fine with it she did very well

awesome! or kickass is a much better word! I bet proud isn't the word for how you guys feel. sounds like she's doing better than average by a long shot.

Thats awesome, when my daughter did that stuff and we went to the contests the scoring was shitty then also. they could only hit the chest but they could kick the head. I'm hoping to get her back into something here. I think that by you letting her train in martial arts you are preparing her for a life where she will have the tools she needs to protect her self and she will know that theres winners and losers, and losing sucks. I just found out in class thursday that the 2 black belt judges that were scoring the sparring match both told me that the master said not to give the first place trophy to my daughter because all the kids have to get a gold medal in there division and my daughter would of got 2 gold medals. Now i'm that much more pissed because I beleive if you win you deserve the prize not make all the famalies happy because some of there kids didnt do as well.then yesterday the owner came up to me and said listen he wants my daughter in the black belt program club because he see's she's gifted. this is a certian program that you pay so much for 3 years and you get special privliges,more one on one coaching a new black belt uniform. my wife and I are just so proud of my 5yr old.

i was in Austin all last week for the USA Taekwondo National Championships.

it was a good week. i didnt compete but did spar with a few guys. on the mez of the hotel. i was impressed they were not snobby as many martial arts purists are and i showed them some BJJ, KFM and thai boxing and they showed me some cool TKD stuff.

regardless of effectiveness in a real fight i respect all martial arts and had a blast. one of the old guys likened it to me as a **** fisherman and them as fly fishermen, we dont fish for the same thing and use different tackle but you can still learn stuff that will help you in your style of fishing
