Side-by-Side comparison of cars and trucks. Compare the gas mileage and greenhouse gas emissions of new and used cars and trucks

here is the site the fed's are using to find the mpg's for the trade in as well as the mpg's for the unit being baught. depending on fuel savings, the klunker will get either $3500 or $4500. trade has to be regestered and insured for a year in the persons name who is titling the new car. trade in cannot be over 25yrs old. purchased NEW car being purchased must get 4mpg better than trade.

take a look and it'll be clear to you that this is mostly intended to get trucks off the road for cars.
to get 4500 you have to get 10mpg better than your trade. a 94 suburban gets 12mpg. there's no truck (2009-2010) that AVERAGE (city/highway) 22mpgs....so, for 4500, you gots to buy a car.
there have been alot of issues with the ratings the gov has put on alot of these cars....

The Beamer is stick . You have to understand my wife has never owned a car this long- hell I didn't buy tags for a vehicle for the first 12yrs of our marriage. We never have like to keep a car for more than a year or so- and this one is 3yrs old- so out with the old- in with the new. I would swap it out now, but I'm going to pay off a few thing- re-fi the house- then buy her car so I can get ready to price having a pool put in

well..even though the beamer is probobly a clunker...it wont qualify. also...that beater ford will fuk that "yoda" up!!!!

dosnt work on commercial vehicles. its gonna be hard to buy any suv or truck on this program....that defeats the governments goal of ridding the u.s. of trucks. they already got the inferior, weak, very car like toyota and nissan trucks in here, and now they have control over chrysler and gm...the only one left too protect your rights and fight the evil is ford. is there really a TRUE AMERICAN made vehicle???? half the electronics (even in your mighty Ford) are made in China- there is no such thing as an American made vehicle

And just for the record- That Ford in the pick can't even come close to the Yoda-LOL . Just face it Dave- Yoda set the bar on this Tundra- it will take Ford and the likes a while to answer the call

omg, your so fukin delusional...bro...seriously...dont operate any large pieces of equipment...seriously...your fuked up!!!!

i dont care about a damn radio, lol...the concept of "made" in america is more than where it's assembled. it's going from idea, to the drawing board, to a clay model, to a prototype, to a test unit, and so on... it passes through THOUSANDS of americans hands before it get a green light to be built! that tundra plant in texas dont produce dick for american income compaire to a gm, chrysler or ford built unit. think about it deep...it takes 10 people for every 1 person on the assembly line to get a unit TOO the assembly line...all your doing is giving 1 american and 10 japs a job....you may not want to hear that, but it's the truth. people can try to justify it all they want...rationalize it, twist it...dosnt matter. you purchase a foriegn car, you supporting a foriegn company thats paying foriegn workers...plain and simple. sorry if it makes you squirm a little to hear it...it is what it is.

ALSO...DONT FORGET...IF PUCHASING A NEW VEHICLE IN 2009 YOU CAN WRITE THE SALES TAX OFF ON YOUR TAXES THIS YEAR!!!

well they had a thing on TV some time back about some tennis shoes being tagged "Made in America" and from what I remember they had to remove that because alot of the materials that they were made of were imported- hence NOT American Made- doesn't the same hold true form all the imported parts on everthing we use day to day including our vehicles??? Have you shopped at Wal-Mart? Then you have shopped at the most Un-American -American owned store in the world, but they employ many Americans as does Toyota. I'm sure the hat you put on your head( unless you wear a Stetson- like a good Texan) says made in Malaysia- when 80-90% of the things we use on a daily basis aren't made here- its hard to point a finger at a guy you buys a car/truck that is assembled HERE and is supporting employment of fellow hard working American because the re-sale value and quality is better. Lets truely face it- Japs and Germans make quality stuff. So just turn up your Chinese radio and enjoy the American music thats probably being played by a Co. thats foriegn owned-LOL
