Worked on this for about 5 hours today, my hand is killing me, but it was fun making. It was suppose to be my brother, but doesnt really look like him. Only been messing with this stuff for a couple months, start classes in the fall for it.

What type of original image did you start with? I don't really know what to ask...I can see his eyes behind the fake looking ones. In laymen's terms, how does it work? If you can give a quick run through.1 up

Yea, im still working on it, thats why you can see the eyes from the image on the model.
I start with 2 images, 1 straight on and 1 side view. The 2 images are placed into 3ds max, a high end animation software. I then use a series of lines and to create a grid on top of the straight on view. after that you convert the lines into a mesh and expand the vertices outward to the side view. Then you can turn the mesh into a flat surface. after a lot of editing the mesh and getting everything to flow properly, you can wrap the model in almost anything, so I choose a photo and had it wrapped around, but was getting tired so didnt take the time to position it properly so that they eyes lined up right. Its a lot more work than you would think, every line is placed with some intention, and it takes a lot of them to create a smooth surface.I wanna make an entire person, then Ill get to the whole movement thing.Comment

these may give you a better idea of how the wireframe looks and how you can apply different images. same project, just minor changes
