The best person to tell you would be the one who is with you when you are sleeping. What your mother has told you about when you sleep, definitely sounds like you may have it.
did you catch the edited part about her being a nurse as well?
I have insomnia to an it gets worse as I am getting older. This happens to women a lot as they get older due to hormonal changes but I am not sure if it happens to men too. Having issues with pain does not help any either. Has anyone ever tried Amitriptyline? Doc has prescribed it to me because of the pain I am in, to help me sleep better, but I have not tried it yet.
Gosh baby1, Im soo sorry to hear youre still having that pain. There just has to be a solution out there somewhere.
yes, took amitriptyline long ago for insomnia. it works. No doubt about. aka elevil. caN leave you a bit groggy in the morning if you take too much. also there are cardiac concerns with it. It can wig out your heart, but probably not if youre caerful with it. good luck

Finally going to a doctor tomorrow that I have waited 2 months to get into. He has got to do something because this pain is unbearable. I can't work more than 4 hours at a time and that is even hard these days.
It came out of the blue for me, and at the time I was only getting MAYBE 2 hours of sleep a night, I was a complete mess.
I ended up falling down the stairs and breaking my foot, from being completely sleep deprived. (prior to breaking my foot, I tried numerous sleep aids from the health store that didnt help)
SO, after I broke my foot, I gave in an started taking a prescription sleep aid. I have now been on it for 3 years. I still dont sleep that great, but I know I am addicted to it, for if I dont take it, I dont fall asleep at all.
I only sleep for maybe a few hours at a time, then I toss and turn, and am always up very very early.
For me tho, I know its not sleep apnea, its definately mind racing. My mind is ALL over the place when I am trying to sleep, and nothing I seem to do, helps me relax.
My thoughts are, if you can find something that helps you sleep, than take it. There is nothing worse than having a sleep disorder, well except for an unexplainable injury! (right baby1)
Good luck to all the other insomniacs out there, it sucks not to sleep!!!!

Yea, ive tried that. Its got anti-depressant qualities too. 50 mgs will kinda put me tom sleep but I wake up cause it dries my mouth out so bad. I took 25 mgs last night and it did nothing and Im downing water RIGHT NOW cause my mouth is still dried out from it!!!
Most people it will knock out but not me.

I used to take Tylenol PM but I found it was simply too much $$ and I don't like take that much tylenol to sleep - I was up to 4+ a night.
I read what the sleep ingredient was and it's nothing more than whats in benadryl or over OTC stuff.
I found a "sleep" med that was just the active ingredient and take about 4 of those a night and ibuprofen or naproxen when and if I have extra aches and pains.
Taking this much stuff on a regular basis can't be good but I can't see taking all the tylenol to get the sleep benefit and more work for the liver.
Occasionaly - as in the case for you last night - it works great though
Last night was a bear for me too - just couldn't get settled for long.
I was asleep hard and fast but awake an hour and a half later.
Took a leak - got a cookie and some milk - then hard and fast asleep just to be up again in an hour and a half.
All night long. Funny thing is I woke up totally refreshed - probalby crash later this morning!!

That has Dyphenhydramine in it. You can get just Dyphenhydramine from the pharmacy and its no script of course but its generic and dirt cheap. The pharmacy will give ya like 100 for $3.
Those dont faze me either......

trezadone. I think it might have some antidepressant ingredient, but nothing to even sneaze over. It's main purpose is sleep. And a good night's sleep it delivers. And, it's no Ambien, or something that can grab hold of ya. You'll wanna take it 8hrs before your wake up time. No morning drowsiness what-so-ever. none!
...I wouldn't take an antidpressant if not needed bro.
Tried it(Trazadone) and it worked a lil bit but gave me crazy arse nightmares.
As for Ambian...it works but I like a few beers in the evening and when ya mix the two ya look at the boards the next day and see that you dont remember typing what ya typed and its all fuqed up spelling and all. It's a Hypnotic and I was on it for about 4 months. I'd get sleepwalk on the stuff too. One time the next morning I drove to the store, bought about $60 worth of prepared foods at the grocery and put it in the fridge. I went back to sleep, woke up, went to the fridge and when i saw all the food I wondered where did it come from and then I vaguely remembered going to the store!!! They call it sleep driving and its common on Ambian......no shiat!!!!!!

Yea, when I finally get to sleep and get a few hrs I wake up with those "racing thoughts" like you do. I hate it. Makes me feel like Im nutso or something!!!
My doc prescribed me Klonopin in a very light dose and that relaxes me but it takes a few beers and that anti-depressant to get me to sleep. Thing is...the anti-d makes me starving hungry at night. Say if I go to sleep at 2 a.m. which is early for me, Ill get up at 3:30 or 4 am. and down a whole plate of Spaghetti in a few mins and Im back to bed. Thats ok when Im bulking but I aint bulkin right now.
I tried Lunesta too and that wasnt worth a damn.
Maybe warm milk and a few chocolate chip cookies will do it! LOL
Anywho, I go to the doc on the 24th because Ive had it!!! I need a solution.
Tren is almost out of the question and that sucks. Sometimes I sleep so light I get up wondering if I slept at all......
