my preferred gym shoe is whatever current Nike Max I have. Current also as in the new one, not one of the classics. Just because they're so comfy, and look most gymish.
I've worn classic New Balance that are similar to Sauconys, if that's the Saucony you're talking about. That's the only thing that comes to mind when I think Saucony. If they do make anything else, I've never seen it, I guess. But, the New Balance didn't compete with my Maxes. Max Shox, like somebody listed, are notably awesome in the gym.1 up

I like shoes with the mesh that keeps your feet cool. However, I got these Fila shoes this last time, which were cool until I did squats. I don't know what that did to them but now they phucking squeak every time i take a step.

The hip slep is why I didn't like those classic/base model
New Balance that I wore a couple times. The sole would not stay well seated under my feet right. Cause they're just an old school design is why they did that. I'm sure a real good New Balance would be a different story.
I got a pair of Gortex Merrell boots. Gortex is a breathable mesh. But Merrell makes a very breathable mesh shoe with those unreal Vibram soles. That Vibram sole is nice. I think I might give those Merrells a shot. They're worth the money. They're very tough too. Merrell is a hiking boot brand, so you have a long wearing, tough product.1 up

New Balance, except on leg day. I wear Otomix Cross TrainersPush it, Pull it, Rack it. Repeat untill wide!!
