  • The Wrestler and Benjamin Button

Watched both of these movies over the weekend and neither one lived up to the hype. the wrestler was so predictable, they might as well have called it Rocky Balboa 6....actually I think any rocky movie was better than this dog.

Benjamin button was weird as hell. Had some funny parts like that preacher scene, but otherwise it sucked and I cant believe the reviews that said it was the best movie of the decade...NOT!

^ I guess it was ok. I just didnt think it was as good as hyped. Im probably more critical than most because if a movie isnt exceptional, I feel like I wasted 2 hours. Im discovering that the Oscars dont have anything to do with how good a movie is. Look at that movie Crash that won best picture a few years ago. It was phuckin horrible. Look how many crappy movies get nominated every year.

How bout that dude having open heart surgery and a few weeks later he's belly floppin off the top rope? LOL...and of course the steroid dealer asking if he wants some cocaine to go with his dbol and sustenon...typical hollywood bullshit

Re: The Wrestler and Benjamin Button

I literally just finished watching The Wrestler 5 minutes ago and thought it was extremely good.
                    Predictable - Hell yes.
                    Good - Yes

Just because a movie is predictable doesn't mean it's bad.
The story was good, the acting was very good, and the ending although we all knew what was going ot happen was still touching.

And for the record - they didn't have him doing the roids after the heart attack...just the blow!
I could easily see how this could be so true to life it's scary.
Even if you've never been a top pro wrestler or even pro anything - I think people could relate - at least to some degree.
I took it as a refusal of old age and going out doing what he loved to do.

Die waht you love doing - - not many people in this sh!thole of a world can claim to even come close to that.
Was it predictable? Sure but that didn't take anything away from the movie.

Should he have cashed it in and decided to serve deli meat the rest of his days?
And talk about what once was??
Sitting a broken down old dude talking about the glory days?

Some will say yes - some will say no.

                    I thought it was great.

Well, I guess the wrestler was ok, but it sure didnt live up to the hype it got.

I just saw the Wrestler a couple hours ago. It was a decent movie. I don't think it lived up to the hype.
