If you are having trouble staying logged in when navigating between forums/topics/etc., you need to reset your session cookie. Go into your browser and delete any cookie for the site them log back in. This should fix the login issue.
WTF is up with the "Chicago Snuggly Pub Crawl", or whatever the hell it was?? Seems a bunch of people got a brilliant idea to wear those snuggly blanket/jacket thingys, then go pub crawling. And, news across the country was dumb enough to cover this. Only in Chi town.
